Win $5,000 In The NFBC Online Auction Championship
Last year we introduced the debut NFBC Online Auction Championship after first introducing our new online auction software in 2019. The response to the 1st annual Online Auction Championship was overwhelming and we were well ahead of expectations until Covid-19 shut everything down on March 13th.
As a result of the shortened season, we chose to refund everyone who had already participated in the Online Auction Championship and to shut it down for the year. We didn't run any Sprint Online Auction Championships, instead holding only private league online auctions.
But we were excited about the online auctions and will debut that overall format again this year, with even bigger prizes. Last year we guaranteed a $3,000 grand prize, but this year we are increasing that to a $5,000 grand prize and $10,000 in guaranteed prizes. We also are shooting for over 30 full leagues, well up from last year's expectations.
All leagues in the NFBC Online Auction Championship will be 15-team leagues with 23 players acquired through the auction and 7 players acquired through a serpentine draft that will be held right after the auction at 1 minute per pick. We will offer $150, $250 and $500 leagues with the same amount from each league going toward the overall prize pool. We know you'll love the online auction software and these auctions all finished in a timely fashion.
This remains a modest start, but we believe the interest is there to grow online auctions going forward and to grow this guaranteed grand prize each year. These will be 15-team, mixed auction leagues with FAAB, the same format as the Auction Championship (23 players per team, $260 with 7 man reserves) but at lower price points. A total of $450 from each league goes toward the overall prize pool. We are projecting 32 leagues this year and will pay the Top 3 in each league and the Top 15 overall. This is double what our projections were before last season. Let's gooooooooo!!
Here's the Overall Prize Pool:
NFBC Online Auction Championship:
1st - $5,000
2nd - $1,500
3rd - $1,250
4th - $1,000
5th - $800
6th - $750
7th - $700
8th - $600
9th - $550
10th - $500
11th - $450
12th - $400
13th - $350
14th - $300
15th - $250
Here's the league prizes:
$150 League:
1st - $900
2nd - $300
3rd - $150
$250 League:
1st - $1,600
2nd - $700
3rd - $250
$500 League:
1st - $3,500
2nd - $1,500
3rd - $550
We will still offer private $125, $250 and $500 Draft Champions Online Auctions with prizes similar to last year. But all of our FAAB Online Auction Leagues will now be part of this National Championship. Here are the league prizes again for the Draft Champions Online Auctions:
$125 DC Auction League (27 reserve rounds):
1st - $1,000
2nd - $375
3rd - $125
$250 DC Auction League:
1st - $2,000
2nd - $750
3rd - $250
$500 DC Auction League:
1st - $4,000
2nd $1,500
3rd - $500
We believe there is a market for online auction leagues and we want to be the leader in this area. We've invested heavily in the software and we'd love to use it to grow another national championship with guaranteed prizes. I think together we can grow this contest and grow this area of the industry.
I'll post the contest link and the auction dates/times soon after we launch the new site in the next two weeks. Thanks all and enjoy.

Re: Win $5,000 In The NFBC Online Auction Championship
Great news Greg. Hopefully there will be at least 1 in November because if I remember correctly, in past years we didn't do auctions until the new year. Maybe Randy Arozarena will go for more than Mike Trout and Ronald Acuna. LOL

Re: Win $5,000 In The NFBC Online Auction Championship
We do not have an Online Auction Championship League scheduled in November, but we can add any date and time to any contest easily if we get a request to do so. We are unveiling the site with similar draft dates to last year's contests, but again we can add any new contest at any new time where needed. Hassle Darik or Tom to add a draft date and time and we'll get it done.

Where are the Auction DC signups? I do not see them in the lobby.

I would be interested in doing one of these earlier than usual
Re: Win $5,000 In The NFBC Online Auction Championship
I'm also interested in doing an auction earlier than usual. If others are interested then add a note to this thread, and we can get it set up. Maybe mid December ?

I’d be up for a DC Auction in December if there was interest in that format.

I would be interested in a December auction championship too.
Re: Win $5,000 In The NFBC Online Auction Championship
Tom, Greg, Darik...we seem to have a few guys ready for a December auction. Is it possible to set one up? Maybe on a Tuesday or Wednesday night when lives are not as busy? Maybe a cheaper one to start, say a $125 DC. December 15 or 16 (Tuesday-Wednesday) should give us enough time to round up 15 guys ?

Re: Win $5,000 In The NFBC Online Auction Championship
Yes, my fault. Earlier this week we added an NFBC $150 Online Auction Championship league on Tuesday, Dec. 22nd at 8 pm ET and one on Tuesday, Dec. 29th at 8 pm ET. That's two good options before the New Year.Thurman15 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 05, 2020 10:24 amTom, Greg, Darik...we seem to have a few guys ready for a December auction. Is it possible to set one up? Sorry, I should have posted in this thread earlier. Enjoy all and good luck.
If there's demand for a $125 DC Auction League on the 15th we can add one then, too. Just say the word.

I'm signed up for the December 22 Auction championship. Hoping some of you guys that expressed interest will sign up. Ronald Acuna could be yours. Big League Wood, Rickenbacker, Andy, Misters Major and Maples, etc Are you guys getting in ? If you sign up soon, you get a bonus where you can bid on every single name that gets tossed out.

Sorry, not me for that one. Hope you guys have a blast. I’ll jump into the first auction DC where the date works for me. Saving my FAAB leagues for March.Thurman15 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 09, 2020 10:18 amI'm signed up for the December 22 Auction championship. Hoping some of you guys that expressed interest will sign up.
