Hi. I'm Craig. I've never played this exact format before so there will be a giddy newness to the draft for me, kinda like when John Smoltz closed for the first time. You fair weather Braves fans know what I'm talking about.

seriously though, good luck everyone.

Welcome!!

I joined the NFBC two years ago and am totally hooked. My first year, I think I finished 270th out of 300th, so it really wasn't pretty. But once you go NFBC you never go back!

One thing I will say I had to learn was the deeper players. I had just never played with no trading and 450 players taken so you need to really know the prospects, etc...

Good luck and have fun,

Spy

Thanks. My one worry is that due to the high stakes that we're dealing with, I'll subconsciously make too many "safe" plays, like taking a lousy but healthy closer instead of an Eric Gagne, or that sort of thing, as to not waste my 1,300 in a span of two weeks when he gets shut down for the year. Its one thing to plan to take chances, but its another to get the nerve to spit out those names on draft day. Perhaps drinking will help. ;)

I can't believe I'm in a league with the famous Don Johnson!!! You'd think he be busy with Celebrity Fit Club or Dancing With the Stars or something. Me not worthy.

Glenn, who are you hoping to get at 5? You can tell me since i pick after you and everyone else promised to not look at your reply. If you're worried, give your response in pig-latin and I will decode it.

I'm looking to take Pujols at Number 5. If he's not there, my entire strategy is screwed.

There are rumors that albert's lost 10-15 pounds over the offseason, so I wouldn't get too upset. His HGH supplier probably got raided by the feds.

Yep it takes real skill to pick Pujolis at #3 :D

Now if the rest of my team will just a) not get hurt b) play to their potential and c) I find a 2nd good closer on the FAAB, I will be all set

Lots of fun, and nice fast draft. Some interesting strategies in this league (early catchers, double SS to start, etc...) It will be fascinating to see if any of them work

in case you missed this:

ok, assuming the new data is right, here is the overall ADP value analysis - as I indicated, KOQ did the best in the overall (negative numbers are goood). Note there were some players who did have an ADP, so they got a 450:

Kings of Queens -552.06

Quahogs -188.99

Mace and Bailey's A-kickers -160.77

The Brushbacks -64.52

LOS PIPAS GRANDE 27

God Our Team Sucks! 27.38

Team Johnson 41.26

Team Rock 79.11

CT and RT Main Event 126.79

Scott & Jay 134.66

BilLee 188.05

R&R COBRAS 197.38

PHILBYS 210.31

Ya GOTTA Believe 219.85

Now, here is the more important top 10 Round Analysis:

Kings of Queens -13.62

PHILBYS 22.68

Mace and Bailey's A-kickers 29.18

LOS PIPAS GRANDE 35.47

R&R COBRAS 43.71

CT and RT Main Event 66.5

JOEYDMETS 74.95

Team Rock 92.85

Scott & Jay 114

BilLee 130.32

Now, here is the most important top 5 round analysis:

CT and RT Main Event -12.96

Ya GOTTA Believe -7.42

Quahogs -1.46

Team Johnson -1.05

The Brushbacks 1

Scott & Jay 2.43

Kings of Queens 2.8

God Our Team Sucks! 5.54

JOEYDMETS 19.03

Mace and Bailey's A-kickers 38.65

This just goes to show you, if you are responsible for analysis, there is always a way to cut the data so you look good

Thanks for running the numbers, Spy. While I am happy with the results, I understand that they must be taken with an extremely large grain of salt.

These two weeks between NFBC Draft Weekend and Opening Day are terrible -- April 1 can't get here soon enough!
