What does it take to win Online Championship?

Post by sportsbettingman » Sat Apr 04, 2009 11:13 am

Well...it's been fun being tied up in the overall for the last 6 weeks (2), but that all changes tomorrow night!

Bout damn time!!! :D :D :D

I'm loading up on asparagus and garlic right now...1 hour 45 min until final live draft of the baseball season...and the bathroom is right next to the draft room!

Good ole' asparagus pee and garlic beer breath to make a draft night complete! :D

.281 avg should be the requirements for a contending team at least on offense great... I have 11 contending teams in my league

[/QUOTE]What do my projections have to do with league projections?

Your league projections were too low IMO, and others I have talked to agree.

a draft day projection of 290hr, 170sb, 281 avg gets you an invite to the big "hitter" dance. you'll likely need more to win this whole thing (by using the waiver wire), but having a chance to win is what you need first.

Some goofball drafted 6 pitchers in the first 8 rounds of this draft, including Lincecum at #5 overall -- he went Lincecum, Upton, B.Roberts, Peavy, Haren, Nathan, Mariano, Nolasco to start. So the hitting is a little inflated and the pitching on the other teams is diluted a bit.

If the pitching can find some solid numbers and fill in with free agents, I think this team has some potential.

RP Balfour Yeah, know it's light on starting pitching for sure, just have some potential to build around there I hope.

Like the hitting, except looks real light in steals to me, don't think Burris/Casilla is enough to get you there. Starting pitching is good, like a lot of your drafts picks there, but not a big Volquez fan though. The bullpen is questionable at best.

Good luck, gonna be a good league I hope.

Greg has asked for no rosters to be posted until after today. Why not wait 6 more hours til all the drafts are done?

30 Cust bench Kawakami and Uehara? I avoided them fearing they would struggle to adjust, but you must have seen something you liked. I would have liked to see you get one more full time OF as Span and Delmon may end up splitting enough at bats to neuter them both. I like your value plays at MI and I guess when you start with 2 big whoppers at 1b you can afford to go value at 3b, too.

Right now you have mid pack saves but SP look strong - I like Kershaw in the 18th and Soriano in the 29th - I'd say your best 'steals' for value Why Renteria late? Hoping he finds his wings and could be a speed option for you if you need a little?
