Hmmm...three guys ahead of me and I have my eye on two players....what are the odds?

Well, I did not think I had much chance of Berkman making it to me, but a boy has to dream.

He was one of my two...one player with my eye on him and one drafter ahead of me....

Mr. Eagle, Dunn was not one of my choices...I like Dunn...certain a big help in HR, RB and R, but man that BA is a bit tough to absorb...if he can make it above .260 you can really count your luck stars...he will certainly help a team, but you may end up having to compensate later in the draft to get your team BA up to par...

13-10 Victor Martinez C CLE

Don't really like to take a catcher early in the draft but I think Victor will be a soild 3rd Rd pick.

Ok, for my consolation prize I guess I will go for....

Pick 3-11 Delgado, Carlos 1B NYM

I took Mauer at 3-12

I like VMart and Mauer way ahead of the other catchers.

When I lost out on Berkman and Martinez, my fall back picks were either Pods or Delgado....

I decided to go with one more proven power source. I hate the ballpark he is in, but he did ok in Florida so chances are he should survive NY. I am really beginning to like the cast that will normally be hitting in front of him, too.

Pods was tempting though...in this draft, I would really have to begin carefully considering those middle round guys with 15-20 SB potential. I always do, but now rather than targeting two or three, I would have to target a couple more. Last year I got lucky and picked up Taveras in the FAAB....

Having been burned by injuries last year with my No. 1 pick (Rolen), the first closer I took (Dotel), the first SP I took (Escobar)and were all in my first 10 picks (and at least one other in Vidro), Mauer would scare the pudding out of me this early. He probably will be a monster this year, but how long will he hold up....

Nothing current I know of. he just has a prior history of always being injured. See picture of Griffey. Even in his early years. Lot's of time missed.
