Ben Sheets underwent surgery after the season to repair a herniated disc in his lower back . These things are never a good sign. Could he miss opening day? You've been warned. Draft him and you could be a $1,250 donation

Yep, and he pitched 1/2 the year with that herniated disc. No way he can match those numbers with a healthy back.

the point is, he had SURGERY. never quite sure how pitchers respond until they are back on the mound. draft with caution

My thinking is he did it with an ailing back, and if David Wells can come back and pitch effectivley after back surgery, Sheets should be up to the task. What I really want to know is how do you put up numbers like that and go 12-14.
