Hello Greg,
Not necessarily directed at NFBC but a question regarding the stats for Buehrle's last game against KC. There were 3 errors committed in the same inning, all throwing errors which resulted in baserunners advancing and/or scoring, and in the case of Teahan a run scored on a double. I watched the game and was amazed to see all stat lines with 7 ER. How can all runs be earned, specifically the Teahan run if they did not give him an in the park homerun, with 3 errors in one inning?
Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Perhaps a better question for Stats?
thanks,
Matt

I did not see the game, but if the official scorer feels that those runs would have scored even without the benefit of the throwing errors than they are determined as earned runs. For example, if the guy after Teahen got a hit, Teahen would have scored anyway making that an earned run. Hope I helped.

I will trust Doughboys on this one, but forward to STATS for an official response. Yeah, that does seem odd. Hopefully I'll get an answer.
