thanks for the feedback, dyv, john_ashton, and the other flame-baiters. I guess there's a second showstopper precluding my participation: too many assholes like you two. Better to know that now than after having forked over $1250. It would take all the fun out of playing to have guys like you in the league.

As I said before, he is way out of his league and just trying to act like one of the big boys. Too bad, I could have used his money.

Im glad he got out. He would have had to babysit for his baby brother a few more saturday nights to raise the money. Or set up a lemonade stand or something. I'm just suprised, that with all of his knowledge, he didn't join just because it was a sure thing. I bet his resume compared to GG alleged resume.

Holy smokes - he thought a high stakes baseball draft in a big city would be ******* -free? I know I got Greg's invitation to a pre-draft tea and crumpets party...

Wow - talk about naive... wait until tomorrow when he discovers the moon really isn't made of cheese... poor fella will have his life torn apart.

I have to say, I love the way you guys shred the naive and annoying. Really, I'm looking forward to competing with the pros, the quick-witted, and the self-delusional ... after all, what joy is there in just beating a guy that names himself after an office supply accident.

LB - What position did you pick from? I see you won the WCOFB and had A-Rod and Prior on the team. Not a bad 1-2 punch. Did team #1 pass on A-Rod in your league last year?

Thanks,

Pete

I may be speaking out of turn, but I believe someone told me that A-Rod went #2 in all three leagues last year. Think that will happen in all our leagues this year? Probably not.

If I get the number 1 pick I'm taking Bob "The Hammer" Hamlin.

Ouch! That name hurts. I remember investing a pretty penny on Bob Hamelin rookie cards, and that was BEFORE his ROY year. I was talking talking some serious, "Gordon Gekko" type trash for a while...at least until his back gave out.

Then again, I'm the same guy who was absolutely convinced Greg Briley would be the next Joe Morgan. Whoops.

Had 2nd pick.

ARod had those minor upper back/neck spasms last spring. The news came out that same week before the draft. ARod, I believe, went 2nd in two leagues and 3rd in the other. The Unit was the popular #1 draft pick.

Yeah, for some strange feeling, I don't think we'll end up getting Prior in the 3rd round again.

LB - You never know.... Prior might have back spasms this year and fall to round 4. That reminds me of a tragic mistake I made at a local draft several years ago. I was just about to select Mark McGuire when my partner asked out loud "Hey, what's up with McGuire, anyone know?". Immediately a reply came back "His back is all messed up".... Seconds later after consulting with my partner we announced "Fred McGriff".... You don't want to know who had a better year....
