Mid-Season Mixed Auction League Is Available

Okay, there have been a few requests for a mid-season auction league and I've worked out the details to make this possible. The live auction will take place on Thursday, July 14th starting at 7 p.m. EST and will be held on FantasyAuctioneer.com. We'll get a test league set up beforehand so that everyone can take a test drive on this system, but I've used it before and it is very sweet. You MUST stay on your toes, however, as the bids go fast and if players are nominated fast it really moves. It should be good fun.



Now for the details:



WHAT: NFBC Mid-Season Mixed Auction League



WHO: 15 teams, $260 budget for 23 players. 23 required spots must be filled and those players will begin accumulating stats counting Thursday's games.



WHEN: Thursday, July 14th starting promptly at 7 p.m. EST. Should take 3-4 hours on this site.



WHERE: www.fantasyauctioneer.com. We'll physically input the leagues on Friday and your leagues will show up on the NFBC site, run by STATS. We will do a 7-round reserve serpentine draft after the auction to fill all 30 spots, but your 23 players acquired in the auction MUST start during that short week.



COST: $100 per team.



PRIZE: It's a winner-take-all league with first place earning a 2006 NFBC free entry for the main event or auction leagues ($1,250 value).



SIGNUPS: Just e-mail me at [email protected] or [email protected]. First 15 get in and if there's interest for another league we'll try to fill that. Let's just stick with the mixed league format for now.

Just an FYI on this as we currently have 15 teams for the Thursday, July 14th Mid-Season Auction League. Invitations will go out to those 15 owners later this afternoon and you'll be able to see the FantasyAuctioneer.com site. It's a great site and the auctions really cruise. We'll allow 10 seconds inbetween bids, so act fast as that little clock goes down to 0 in a hurry.

[/QUOTE]Yes, George del Prado of Fantasy Auctioneer.com has all 15 e-mail addresses and will send out the league invites today or tomorrow. He said he would also set up a practice time for everyone to see how the auction works. It's quite cool, but the "Bid +1" function can be tricky at times. When two people bid at exactly the same time, it can go up +$2, which isn't all that big of a deal, but it happens.



We will close this out with one league and George will send out invites soon. You'll have more than a week to familiarize yourself with this site. Good luck everyone as this auction league is now closed.
