A pair of Massachusetts residents are coming to New Yawk to compete for the $100,000 grand prize. Let's give a hearty bullpen welcome -- hey, separate those Red Sox and Yankees fans -- to John Rundle and Tom O'Connor. Welcome aboard guys and best of luck in the NFBC.

Hey, I just thought of this: Are we going to need extra security in New York to separate Yankees, Red Sox and Mets fans????

I don't want to blow his cover, but Jeff Howard of BaseballHQ.com has officially signed up to compete in the NFBC draft in Chicago. Jeff will be flying in from Georgia for the proceedings. While Jeff will never admit he is an expert, he is a writer for one of those expert web sites and competes in expert leagues and is known to have an expert IQ. But don't tell him I said all that.

Anyway, welcome to the NFBC Jeff and BaseballHQ.com, one of our promotional partners.

Las Vegas continues to be the No. 1 destination for NFBC members early on as our latest entrant is making the trek from Los Angeles to Vegas. Let's give a hearty welcome to Boaz Levy, the latest contestant to earn a shot at the $100,000 grand prize. Welcome aboard Boaz and best of luck in Las Vegas.

Greg,

Thanks for all your help....can't wait for this all to begin.

IS there a place where we can see who has signed up thus far and where they are from?

Good Luck guys...

The Windy City is receiving some snow today, but that hasn't stopped people from signing up for the NFBC and thinking about warmer days ahead. Phil Smith and his son Eric will travel over to the Rosemont Convention Center to participate in an NL-only Auction League. We're a little light with registrants for the Auction Leagues in Chicago right now, but I'm sure we'll find enough bidders to fill a few leagues in Chicago.

Right on their heels were Win Murray and Jay Pobis, Chicago residents who will be going across town to compete in the NFBC draft on Saturday. Jay's a ringer, so watch out. Welcome aboard to our four newest members of the growing NFBC family and best of luck to all of you in your auctions and drafts.

Look out folks because Al Riccobono is recruiting his mates to compete for the $100,000 grand prize in New York. Buddies Mark Janik and Vito Luongo are teaming up for the NFBC and will make the trek from the northern part of New York for the big draft. Let's welcome Mark and Vito to the growing NFBC family, one that seems to be growing bigger by the day thanks to the New York area.

Okay, okay, now they're coming in more frequently. I just took Lenny Diveglio's registration over the phone and he's willing to take on everyone alone in New York. Let's welcome another NFBC member to the growing family and make room for one more spot in New York. This is going to be fun at the Javits Center. Best of luck Lenny.

Okay, now I'm not making this up. Three in the last hour. If we could keep that average going for the next 56 days, ah, we'd fill this baby up and then some!!! Let's welcome Aaron Seefeldt of Northbrook, Ill., who will be drafting in the NFBC in Chicago. Welcome aboard Aaron as you're part of a growing team in Chicago. Best of luck and keep the registrations coming.

Thanks for the warm welcome Greg. I was in the "competition's" draft last year. And yes, I was in the league that had the "guy" who dropped Roy Halladay after week 4 or 5 saying big Roy was a piece of garbage and he was all washed up, etc. Well, we all know what happened with that piece of garbage, don't we?

I'll be in Chicago on Saturday and my best friend will be there on Fri. for an NL only!

Welcome Hankster, My boys and I sat next to you in last years WCOFB draft. We were about ready to hit you with a hammer if you took one more of our players the pick ahead of us. Going without the boys this year so Dad can party :D

Leaderboard,

I remember well. I will again sacrifice the live chicken (not prohibited by draft rules) and stick pins in the leaderboard sports doll.

Make way for the team that has the only chance to win back to back "national" fantasy baseball contests.

Looking forward to another fabulous fantasy baseball season. We hope to meet a lot of you in both contests come March.

Thanks to Greg, Emil, Lary, Ken, Meat and everybody else involved that made it possible to participate in both contests.

Go Padres (and oh, Giants)!

Whoa, you guys have made my day down here in Houston. To get the defending champion from last year in another high stakes contest in the NFBC is a great honor. Welcome aboard guys and I promise we'll get you to both events on time. That promise about a bus, beers and dancing girls (hey, I didn't promise that) is bringing everyone in Vegas for baseball to our events. Thanks guys and we'll make it a day to remember. Now back to football and 65 degree weather.

I hope this is a mistake, but were you the team that drafted F.Tatis AND kept him till June???   I hope (for your sake) my staff made a mistake while doing this research.

Oh yeah, congrats on winning last year.

Wow, Gordo - you sure have a chip on your shoulder...

I assume when you don't win this year you'll post an apology to everyone for us having to bear your ego, right?

See you on draft day - confidence isn't a bad thing, but you seem to think you're immune to injuries, strong competition and are just so superior.

Perhaps you're right - I'm just in it for the dancing girls Greg has promised ;)

Heck, having the opportunity to be near you is worth some serious cash!

Have fun with it - I sure will...

So drafting a starting 3B who batted in the middle of an explosive lineup 392nd overall eliminates us from contention this year?

It's safe to say you didn't participate in WCOFB last year because you seem to have the notion that quality FAs are available in 15 team, 29 player roster leagues. And are you insinuating that Tatis was in the starting lineup every week until 6/2?

I can only hope that we're in the same league. See you in Vegas.

BTW, you have "staff" to do your research? lol

Forget Tatis; I want to hear more about those dancing girls Greg promised. As I understand he is sending an autographed dancing girl to all the participants?

Hankster

btw, I drafted Jesus Colome last year in the WCOFB.

Oooh, this smack talk is sooooo good when we already know who the top dawg was from 2003. I just want to let everyone know that we received 5 signups for the NFBC again today and although I don't have access to the names tonight, I think many of them have already introduced themselves on these boards. I'll officially welcome them tomorrow when I have better access. I don't have the dancing girls for the bus lined up yet, but I did visit a Houston Hooter's tonight where the calendar girls autographed their photos. Miss March guarantees a very good month!!! I didn't put 300 autographed calendars on the KP expense account, but there's always tomorrow. Thanks again guys as we're starting to compile some serious numbers in NFBC teams.

I just don't see you guys winning it. Sorry. Let's be honest, how many teams did you beat last year...44, and one of the owners tried to drop Halladay? Again congrats on winning it, but I have a feeling some (NOT ALL) of the competition might have been suspect.

I believe I have a good handle on the quality of FAs available. My staff has researched all three leagues last year and have provided me with some "useful information.” BTW, you guys did have some above average FA pick-ups. Well done.
