Bob Catsiroumpas of London, Ontario won the 2021 NFBC Cutline Championship and the $75,000 grand prize with a monstrous final week as he moved up three spots to take the title. Bob beat a record field of 1,960 teams to become our first two-time NFBC Cutline Champion as he also won the overall title in 2019. This was the 6th year of the NFBC Cutline Championship.
Bob qualified for Round 3 of the Championship Round by finishing 5th overall through Round 2. He trailed Wood Lay by 146.2 points entering the final three-week sprint, but moved into 2nd place after one week as he trailed Aaron Jones by just 23 points. He fell to 4th overall after Week 2 and trailed Aaron Jones by 160.5 points heading into the final week.
But then he had a record-breaking week as his team scored 815 points during the final week of Sept. 13-19. He outscored every other team in the Championship Round by at least 76 points to vault up three spots and take the title. He finished 85.5 points ahead of Aaron Jones, who also had a remarkable Cutline season, finishing 2nd and 3rd overall to win $40,000. Wood Lay won $10,000 for finishing fourth, Rick Bay won $7,500 for finishing fifth and Bruce Carlson won $5,000 for finishing sixth as we paid the Top 20 finishers in the Championship Round. Twenty teams were at "the final table" for the Cutline's Round 3 Championship Round.
Aaron Jones also won the Consolation Round to win $3,500 AND he finished second in the Consolation Round to win another $2,000. We also paid the Top 5 in the Consolation Round. A total of 102 teams were still alive in the final round of the Wild Card Tier.
