Win $600 In Tuesday's NFBC $25/50 Teams Contest
Okay, let's get our regular Tuesday DFS night started this Tuesday on Fanball.com. We will start with a soft launch with a $25 entry fee limited to just 50 teams. There is a max of 3 teams per owner.
We will have cash prizes for the Top 3 finishers of Tuesday's contest:
1st Place - $600
2nd Place - $300
3rd Place - $200
Here's the link:
https://www.fanball.com/contests/k8Hpb0w
Here's the details for this contest using a $55,000 salary cap:
Roster Requirements
Rosters will consist of 9 players and must include players from at least 2 different MLB teams from at least 2 different MLB games. In addition, no more than 5 players from one team are permitted on rosters.
The 9 Roster positions are:
P (SP/RP)
C
1B
2B
3B
SS
OF (LF/CF/RF)
OF (LF/CF/RF)
UTIL (C/1B/DH/2B/3B/SS/LF/CF/RF)
Rules
In Fanball salary cap contests, entrants create a lineup by using players listed in the Player Pool to fill each defined roster requirement. All players have an assigned salary, and a valid roster will not have a salary cap that exceeds $55,000. In addition, the Player Pool will consist of all players expected to be on the active rosters for any team listed in the contest's event set.
Contest results will be determined by the total points accumulated by each individual lineup entry based on the scoring system detailed below.
Participants in each contest must adhere to Fanball's Master Terms of Service. Failure to comply with said terms will result in disqualification and, if applicable, prize forfeiture.
Scoring
Pitchers
Inning Pitched (IP) 1.5
Strikeout (K) 2

Zero interest in this until there is a Main Event Entry as prize as stated there would be.

We will have those soon. We want to open with a smaller price point initially to help everyone get familiar with the format, scoring etc. Nothing has changed with the plan to offer a contest with a free Main Event entry. Hang tight and you'll see those offered soon.Doctor Who wrote: ↑Mon Apr 29, 2019 8:20 pmZero interest in this until there is a Main Event Entry as prize as stated there would be.

Re: Win $600 In Tuesday's NFBC $25/50 Teams Contest
Okay, so one person isn't in tonight. Still plenty of others interested, I hope. $25 to win $600 tonight and if we fill this one up we'll progress right into next week's $50/50 Teams Contest that includes a FREE 2020 NFBC Main Event entry plus more prizes. But we're starting with a soft launch here:Doctor Who wrote: ↑Mon Apr 29, 2019 8:20 pmZero interest in this until there is a Main Event Entry as prize as stated there would be.

10 of 50 spots filled now by NFBC owners. Still plenty of room to jump in for tonight's slate.

Okay, only 15 of 50 spots filled so far with 100 minutes to go. Looks like someone is making off with an easy win in our debut. Who wants the $600?

Congrats to James Jeckewicz of Greeley, Colorado as he won our debut NFBC/Fanball $25/50 Teams contest on Tuesday night and won the $600 first place prize. We finished with only 35 teams this week, so the ROI was over 100 percent for this debut contest. Great job James taking down the first place prize.

Re: Win $600 In Tuesday's NFBC $25/50 Teams Contest
Thanks, Greg. I'll keep playing until I lose my money back regardless, but I'm not sure $25 contests necessarily gauge the interest in $50 contests. Can we try one at 50 bucks before we make any decisions?Greg Ambrosius wrote: ↑Thu May 02, 2019 8:06 amChris Cosley finished second to win $300 and Raymund Chung finished third to win $200. Re: Win $600 In Tuesday's NFBC $25/50 Teams Contest
I'm not sure either. We filled 70% of spots for this first one and really don't want to do that at $50. Someone convince me that doing the $50 contest next Tuesday is the way to go and we'll set it up. We can't actually set it up until dollar values are established on Monday, so we have time. Sell me!!Yah Mule wrote: ↑Thu May 02, 2019 10:58 amThanks, Greg. I'll keep playing until I lose my money back regardless, but I'm not sure $25 contests necessarily gauge the interest in $50 contests. The Free Main Event entry always seems to attract better...
Re: Win $600 In Tuesday's NFBC $25/50 Teams Contest
We used to fill these up @ $50 the last time we ran them in baseball and they fill up in football. And people were a little grumpy this week.Greg Ambrosius wrote: ↑Thu May 02, 2019 1:45 pmI'm not sure either. We filled 70% of spots for this first one and really don't want to do that at $50. Re: Win $600 In Tuesday's NFBC $25/50 Teams Contest
I don't disagree Jim, but everyone was familiar with the FanDuel scoring. I was just hoping to give folks a week to learn the Fanball scoring.
But sure, let's try it. Hopefully people won't be as grumpy this week and we'll fill it. FREE 2020 Main Event entry it is plus $300 for 2nd and $100 for third. Here we go.

Re: Win $600 In Tuesday's NFBC $25/50 Teams Contest
Okay, thanks to this week's champ we will debut next Tuesday with the $50/50 Teams NFBC/Fanball Contest. It will be called the James Jeckewicz $50/50 Teams Contest since he pushed for this!! Now go out and try to beat him!!
We should have the contest link set up and posted by tomorrow. Obviously the salaries won't be there, but it will give us more time to promote the contest and let folks secure their teams. Again, just 50 teams and 1st place wins a FREE 2020 NFBC Main Event entry, with 2nd place earning $300 cash and 3rd place earning $100 cash. We'll promote this contest through the next several days and hopefully sell it out on Tuesday.
Thanks Jim for the push. Now here we go.

Thanks, Greg. I think the baseball contests will prove as popular as football, which has an advantage in the amount of tinkering time you get with your lineups.

I can't believe I'm going to say this, but consider more direct (internal) advertising/reminders about the contest. I simply forgot about the Tuesday contest this week. I saw an email from Tom, but I recall the header being about the mid-season contest and simply deleted without thinking there could be other relevant info in the email.

Re: Win $600 In Tuesday's NFBC $25/50 Teams Contest
There's almost always more than one story in our newsletters. Just an FYI about that. The newsletter remains our best way of advertising to all of our members. The boards are helpful but a minority of people come here. At this time the strongest way for us to reach all of our participants is through our newsletters. We don't just rely on that, however. In addition to posts here, we also sent out info on The NFBC Twitter as well. So between the boards, the newsletter and Twitter we're doing our best to get the word out as strongly as possible.Happenstance wrote: ↑Fri May 03, 2019 8:57 amI can't believe I'm going to say this, but consider more direct (internal) advertising/reminders about the contest.
