I do think there is some amazing value here tho. Namely Forsythe, Walker, Thames, SCHWARBER. I don't like the pitching prices though. I had a feeling that kind of stuff was going to happen in this draft which is why I'm not too pissed about $31 for KluberChipChopChip wrote:TOXIC ASSETS wrote:When your first comment is 'I'm not loving this team' and then the first guy is a $5 Phillies player --- I can kind of see why.ChipChopChip wrote:I am not loving this team

RP GREG HOLLAND $10
RP BEDROSIAN $9
Carrasco & Price are both hurt already.
Ouch.
In my opinion you have to take a few chances in a draft of 15 players to win. Carrasco and Price are two of my gambles. I picked up some fill in guys in the reserves rounds waiting on Carrasco and Price return.

I'm far from the auction expert myself. I have 2 major holes on my AL only auction team, at 3B and SS. My pitching staff is very good but full of gambles -- like ChipChop I also have Price, as well as Tanaka and Darvish. The starting staff will give me a shot but I need luck on my side as well, as does everyone who plays this crazy pastime.

Paying attention to details seems to be important..."Martin Prado will not be ready for Opening Day after an MRI revealed a Grade 1 right hamstring strain. In addition to the strained hammy, Prado is also dealing with some discomfort in his right calf."Bjs2025 wrote:I took Prado in reserves as he was way to good value for a 3B that late and from what I've read Miami doesnt seem to concerned about his hammy.

You guys are the experts, of course, but it looks to me like RotoWhatevs almost punted on steals. After you add up the sneaky IF bags, isn't he still going to be way short?

yes, he's likely sub 100. i didn't want to bury the guy right off the bat. maybe he will rotate span in someTree Huggers wrote:You guys are the experts, of course, but it looks to me like RotoWhatevs almost punted on steals. After you add up the sneaky IF bags, isn't he still going to be way short?

Could anyone in the league please tell me what Lucroy and Sanchez went for yesterday?

You can also say the league overbought on steals at the expense of the other offensive categories. People love to overbid on guys like Billy Hamilton.Tree Huggers wrote:You guys are the experts, of course, but it looks to me like RotoWhatevs almost punted on steals. I'm not awarding a full rim shot here. A rim click should cover it.JohnP wrote:Combined 2-7 with 2 rbi.Yah Mule wrote:Could anyone in the league please tell me what Lucroy and Sanchez went for yesterday?

Was anybody really looking for serious analysis of this league? I was just jonesing for a new YouTube video.

25 and 24 for those two catchers yesterday. The videos helped us all bid appropriately on catchers.Yah Mule wrote:I'm not awarding a full rim shot here. if you "nailed" the other categories, the lack of sb wouldn't be an issue; however i don't think you nailed the other catagories.Bjs2025 wrote:Last I checked sb is one category and the other four are, well...four.Gekko wrote:yes, he's likely sub 100. i didn't want to bury the guy right off the bat. maybe he will rotate span in someTree Huggers wrote:You guys are the experts, of course, but it looks to me like RotoWhatevs almost punted on steals. but you know what, who the hell knows. everyone is an expert at this stage of the game. i'm the guy who owned correa on 90% of my teams last year. FAIL

He stole some $1 pitchers, which worked out great considering some of the big bats he bought. I like this team best so far.Yah Mule wrote:I like the low dollar arms you collected.morons wrote:Here's my squad...If the saying that "Catchers win Fantasy Baseball Leagues" is indeed true, I'm in trouble

I just made a far more thorough video review this draft. I will not share it here if the other teams in the league do not want me to but I will be posting it on YouTube. Is everybody OK with me posting it here?

Brian - if you are looking for some street cred, I wouldn't mention anything about having a team favored by some sort of preseason site projections. Sounds cool to some, but when I hear it, it sounds like dead money. Just a thought

I'm not concerned with cred, I just prefer statistical analysis vs. "Does Jay Bruce have the mindset to play in New York?"Gekko wrote:Brian - if you are looking for some street cred, I wouldn't mention anything about having a team favored by some sort of preseason site projections. did anyone get so excited by your catcher video that they bought 3 catchers? if they did- you might want to do another and remind people the 100% catcher bump only pertains to catchers playing catcher. the 100% catcher bump is also not used on mastersball or fangraphs but what do those morons know.
