Injuries have been prevalent in Major League Baseball this year and now we have one of our own down to start the season. Tom Kessenich is having back surgery today, so let's give him our thoughts and best wishes today. He suffered the injury about a year ago and has been battling through pain since, but hopefully today is the day things turn around.

Best of luck today Tom and get back -- pun intended -- on your feet. Hope all goes well today.

I have endured back pain myself back in the late 1970's. Actually had to be hospitalized and put in traction for 5 days . Eventually got past it with many hours of physical therapy. Wish you a speedy recovery and return back to good health in a timely fashion.

Yeah, back problems suck. Got checked into the boards in hockey back at the age of 13 and was messed up for 1-2 years because of it. By a teammate at practice that took riddelin on a, well, hourly basis (daily?)! Still managed to play through it but missed chunks of two seasons.
