Just got the OFFICIAL go-ahead on this league. In addition to the cast of characters, it will be like no other NFBC league to date. We've got several things planned that will make it an interesting one to follow along with ...

And this morning Jeff Dobies becomes victim #10.

We've now had a couple of guys changing flights to get IN to this league ... with Particelli the notable exception as called out by Lowy above.

Great idea KJ and good job lining up the top players in the NFBC for this one via invitation. Sorry that I've been out of the loop on this one but I was traveling this week. I'm glad to finally catch up on this new kickoff league.

As I've told KJ, my only concern here is space, but I do have two Executive Penthouse Suites reserved for Thursday night's auctions/drafts/party and I'll see if we have other space. We can use one of the suites for this if you think it will give this league a special touch. I'll talk with KJ about that, but it could be a lot of fun that way. There is a HUGE conference at the Bellagio Monday through Friday, so getting additional ballroom space has been incredibly tough. I'm working with my sales manager now on all of this, but let's discuss the starting time and logistics a bit so we're all on the same page.

And we still have 6 Spots Left for the Thursday Night Auction Championship League that we want to fill. So let's not lose sight of that one because we've been stuck at 9 teams for a bit. Thanks all.

I love the idea and I know we can make it work, but I just have to circle back with my Bellagio rep and KJ first. But it's a go. It's just a space issue to do everything on that first night, but we'll get it done. I'm on it.

I think these guys deserve a Penthouse, Greg! Could we also serve Shafer Cab, Filet Mignon and caviar?

Is true. I do try to seek out weaker competition for my leagues.

If anyone can get me from London to Vegas on Thursday in time for the draft, I'm in.

Someone call Cassevettes and see if the private jet is available. Let's get both of them in this league! :)

Sounds like a great group of owners, but I don't get the format. With no FAAB, it seems like a lottery on who gets injured -- a waste of all the skill you've assembled.

The concept is very low in-season maintenance. It's not unlike an AL or NL only league from a bench contribution perspective, but with possible zeros instead of near-zero last guy on the bench players.

It introduces different strategic choices ... will be interesting to see how it changes team construction. We might see new ideas tried out. I don't think it's an injury lottery, Jim, but would look at make adjustments next season if it seems necessary.

Jim - those were my thoughts as well. I imagine there will be a whole bunch of zeros throughout the year

So there are zeros ... maybe you can't follow your ADP comfort zone or standard strategy. You won't need a perfect team to win, just assemble one that's better than the other 14 guys. Some player values will shift. What your bench looks like is different. I think the winner will have drafted and managed skillfully. ;) The beauty of this concept is: 1) minimal time in-season, 2) it does not require STATS IT to implement anything special (priority #1).

The draw is NO FAAB. We all will be up to our necks analyzing the free agent pool in our other leagues. Why do we need another one. The entry is smaller and the fun quotient is high. Strategy will have to be tweaked and while it may be a seem like a war of attrition to some I'm sure the winner will be pleased his "strategy" won out :D
