I think these usually start right after the all star break.

I didn't want to push the mid-season leagues when I felt we still had programming duties unfulfilled with our season-long games. I know some people want to play a mid-season contest and each year we usually fill 4-5 leagues, but this year I didn't want to push these because I felt we still had items to check off first. In the past we've done $125, $250 and even $1,000 15-team leagues. Let me check on the progress of everything else and post something soon. We always draft the Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday during the All-Star break.

Don't want to be a pest about this ... but is there any update? Or an indication as to when a decision might be made? Thanks ...

I feel bad because they have been popular through the years, but I just feel like it's not right to offer more games when we haven't completely finished the full-season games. I apologize but that's just my feeling right now. I'm sure I'd get slammed on these boards if that was my next focus.

Thanks for inquiring and sorry we didn't pull this off this year. I just didn't feel right about it.

I really enjoyed the Don Mathis league last year. Sad to see its not offered this year. I also understand the reason not to run it this year. But hopefully it will be back next year. Thanks

I also wanted to enter a mid-season contest with the NFBC. If they are not going to offer them, does anyone know of any other sites that have mid-season contests?

Only chance is to generate enough interest here and give the names to Greg. Maybe and only maybe then will the all mighty one reconsider.

I can't understand why NFBC won't do it Don, I love the two Mid-Season formats we had in the NFBC, too. I also wish we could have been able to run the Don Mathis League format and the other half-season leagues.

But as you know, we had to finish a lot of programming issues here in the NFBC and we didn't get them all done until late June. I really didn't want to look greedy and start asking for more revenue in early June when we didn't even have the full-season games complete. And then honestly I can tell you that our IT team is working on the NFFC back-end along with all of the other Fanball games and three new contracts and there just wasn't enough time in the day to plan this appropriately.

I know I could have rolled it out and enough NFBC die-hards would have signed up. But it wouldn't have been done first-rate and I'm not even sure if we could have gotten rosters loaded and everything done in time. So I chose not to push the envelope this mid-season and instead concentrated on the many things we still need to get done for our other contests.

Hopefully once we get through the first year of the NFFC with our new back-end, introduce our basketball contest, pay our baseball winners in a quick fashion and then unveil our 2011 NFBC plans early we'll be better prepared in 2011 to run the mid-season games. That will be the plan, but for now it didn't seem right to do it in 2010. Just too much to do first with our main contests.
