Didn't take my second starting pitcher 'til round 14, but I think my staff can at least be be solid with a mix of bounce-back vets and some young guys that hopefully have learned to pitch. GREAT mi and C which will compensate for possible OF issues.. alou(inj) blake(underperf) gomes(doesnt return to '05 2nd half). But bench OF's are good stopgaps until you find a SB guy on waivers. It looks like you're falling a bit short of sb projections. It looks like you'll be ERA challenged and after watching Zach Duke pitch like Zach Braff you'll bouce your namesake in a hurry !
Very nice Hermanson nab.
Q
Yeah, I'll need a few steals from my bench and/or the w/w here and there.
ERA-challenged? probably --- I'll need Hudson and Vazquez to meet the challenge and come up with better than last season, while my young guys avoid having too many of those 2IP, 7 ER lines that'll kill you.

I like most of the offense, obviously things petered out on the Outfield. Depending on Gomes, you may have a slight power outtage. I think you have enough core SPs to find the right mix there - one or two of those bounce back or prospects will be good and you can build from there
Good luck bud!
Spy
thx Spy, I'll take a look at your team later when I have more time ... OF's seemed easiest to get decent value late, and probably w/w - wanted to draft a strong IF and avoid having to plug a Neifi Perez-quality guy into my MI

I am light on speed, and maybe power. Maybe too reliant on some players bouncing back - but I'd like to think that I drafted a solid team.

KJ, was actually sitting a few spots from you and actually liked how the draft turned out, but I will need some help from Upton for his speed and some of the back up closers to come through to help sbs and saves, avg may also fall a bit short, but pretty strong from 6 or 7 categories. The catchers aren't strong either, but I think overall production can make up for it.

Starting pitching looks solid enough, but as fast the marginal closers went off the board that is another trouble area, as you mention. I think we'll have a competitive lge - no one really stood out as dead money, and I don't think any team will run away with it either.

Jim, I like your team. And I'm not just saying that cause I got Harang(7), Uggla(11), Thomas(12), and Bradley(14) also.
I'm getting a little excited about the Turnbow rumors because I was a little embarrassed drafting him in Round 29 or 30 or whenever it was.

[/QB]I think you are right, if you look at the teams...the ones with speed, lack power. The ones with good starters, have weak relievers.
The catchers could hurt me in runs scored and rbi's, but they aren't that much different than most of the second tier closers, so I guess we will just have to see how it plays out.

Our draft went as expected, like having Clemens, N. Johnson & J. Rivera waiting in the wings. Wanted Stephen Drew with 11 rnd, he went right before us had to settle with Peralta, maybe bounces back this year. Pitching looks strong, Speed excellent, Good power, middle infield has some concerns, 2nd catcher is weak. Would appreciate your comments on STRONG/WEAK points. Good luck to everyone.

Before slaughtering my pitching, my plan is to get a good total on wins and K's based on just the sheer volume of 2-start weeks I will be able to post. Most pitchers have a 6 or better k/9 projection. With any luck, I can stay out of the basement with era and whip. I projected this team modestly to score a minimum of 104 in LV2. I had pick 5.

Once again, I will be starting as many double starts and starts vs. poor hitting as possible. Hopefully most of these guys keep their jobs or the FAAB will have to come into play.

This is certainly a creative approach, and I would never knock creativity, but how many wins will pitchers on Pittsburgh, Texas and Kansas City gonna get? Your hitting is above-average, no doubt, but you're going to need it to be dominating. But that is just my opinion.
I went high on pitcher count too (13), so I'm curious how this works out for you.

I personally like all three teams to suprise this year ....my hitting ranked out at just below 70 points, but they will have to do at least that with some luck. I figure if I win, it's a very definable strategy that would get copied. If I don't win, I'll be just another one of 300+ guys who had a blast but came up short. Thanks for the reply.

Seriously, what kind of league was this? How on earth do you end up with all 3 of these guys?
In our league, Crawford went 5, Abreu 26, and Manny 27.
