I know they are losing today but the Phillies seem to be the quietest story in baseball they were supposed to be horrible. Not a Phillie fan at all but this story should get more play. Amaro Jr. Has to be smiling somewhere. I know there is a Phillie fan out there somewhere what is their money situation like at some point they probably do what the Cubs did and add some talent especially offense.

their money situation is they have howard and ruiz on the books thru the end of this year and thats it.

everyone else makes peanuts

they will spend when ready to contend and yes most definitely it will be on offense.

also waiting on crawford, nick williams to come up this year too. that will help

How many games suspension I'll say 10 at least.

Phils have just $50 mil in guaranteed contracts for next year among 4 players - Howard, Harrison, Morton and Ruiz. They'll exercise buyouts for Howard and Morton which will save them $21 mil. They could save another $4 mil with Ruiz but may keep him if they don't trade him. So $29 mil heading into next year along with approximately another $21 mil with their remaining roster. They had been at the $160 mil mark which would leave them $110 mil to spend. It will be interesting when and how they decide to use it. Could they be in position for the Bryce Harper auction?

Didn't see it but listening to MLB radio. Announcers actually defending Odor saying he was defending himself. Or did he sucker punch Bautista? What happened? How did it start?

Texas finally plunked him like everybody knew would happen, so he went into second base aiming at Odor's knee and got up talking shit when he missed. He's lucky Beltre jumped into the mix because Odor was lining him up for another.

I was looking at NBA they do 15 games for fighting its apples and oranges I know but there is a precedent. Since MLB has 162 games could this go 20-30 games maybe.

7 games max, but probably 5.
There's no extra penalty for making good contact on a punch.

Please walk me through this painful exercise. Will Odor be available to start the week? Or it's an automatic suspension?
I hope he ain't missing more than 2 weeks...I have Odor on all my teams...I mean ALL...

Gates,

I will trade you Sonny Gray for Odor?

:D
Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.

Especially since Bautista was striding towards him talking shit with an I'm Joey Badass look on his face. If Joey simply gets up after the play and heads to the dugout, it's all over.
