Re: What Does The First Round Of 2016 Look Like?

i'd like to see what george springer could do with a full season of at bats. in his 637 career AB, he's been injured, but still put up 34hr and stole 20 bases. my early pick of the year to go 30/30 In an OBP league yes - not with BA as the category - but likely a second round pick I got some flack ...

Re: NFBC Promotional Video For TV Show

Excellent promo Greg - I would send this to ESPN, MLB Network, and the 24 hour fantasy channel (if still in business) that is on the East Coast. I would wait to send it to Fox or other cable outlets until you had no interest from preferred outlets. You might also look at promotional deals for local ...

Re: DFS donations

It is Gambling - you are always going to have odd results as well as players who have a zillion lineups throwing a few outliers against the wall just in case

IF you can't spend several hours per day on it you will not be a winner - there are good players who spend most of their day on it.

Re: Jose Reyes Remains Locked For This Week

Here is the rule. In the NFBC, you don’t have to lock in your entire starting lineup on Mondays if you have players who don’t play their first game of the week until Tuesday. You now are allowed to lock in your starters on Monday 5 minutes before their scheduled games that day and also 5 minutes be...

Agree 100% on the last post Dan ... the true diehard fantasy baseball players will continue to play (unless they lose too much on DFS) but drawing new/young players will be harder to do......

Re: How Can We Make The NFBC Primetime Better2?

I like this last post about more draft times I also think the entry price is out of whack - it has to be at a maximum half the price of the main event so one would choose to do two Primetime leagues versus one more main event team. Another idea IF you have to maintain the higher price (and I don't t...

Re: Accounting Issue/Question

I don't think this is a very realistic view of good tax managment of fantasy sports winnings Yes they are other income, and No you can't deduct "gambling" losses BUT you can deduct all your expenses related to your fantasy winnings 1) ALL entries When you put ALL in caps it leads me to think you me...

Re: Accounting Issue/Question

Fantasy sports, according to tax law, is not gambling. It is not gambling income, so you can not net lottery tickets or other "real gambling" losses against it. It is other income, and other losses go against it. We do get screwed.. it sort of lessens the ROI in this. And I'm a CPA. Not that taxes ...

Re: All-Star Break - Set Lineup Deadline

Speaking of which, wouldn't it be nice to have a break from FAAB on the Sunday of the All-Star break, give us a few extra days to process the latest injury/line-up/pitching information and a few days just to assess & analyze the carnage... I mean our teams... while no games are being played?? As a ...

Re: Let's revisit Friday lineup changes for P

What was the reasoning behind eliminating streaming of pitchers in the first place? I've been playing for many years now, but I can't remember. I am guessing it is simply that it wasn't how the NFBC game was created. However several of the longtime players here will remember the WCOFF format (which...

Re: Danny Santana - in AAA?

What would be really nice is if the note was a different color for current player updates, say within the last 24hrs. Actually this should be a pretty easy off season fix for STATS IT team - cbs has both DL (red) and ML (green) designations that appear next to the players name the day after his sta...

You don't roster guys like that where the cat is BAvg Unless your first few picks gave you a huge buffer Santana is actually a good play in On Base Percentage leagues - Gattis and Valbuena not so much (again Unless you have the OBP strongly supported by a couple of guys like Goldschmidt or Miggy or ...

Owned by 100% of teams in DC Leagues...he was optioned to AAA on June 7th and NOT ONE blurb on this site as to his demotion...unreal. He's been in my starting lineup for the last two weeks, only noticed when I saw it on CBS Sportsline. For such a high stakes league, this should be a one-stop shop I...
