Fielder at 1B and CI
Perhaps this little incident will provide impetus for Greg to drop the silly "PH appearances count as a position for eligibility purposes" rule? If the NFBC had ignored those PH appearances and treated Fielder as someone who played 7 games at 1B and 4 at DH (as almost every other league in the count...

Signup List For 2006 NFBC Satellite Leagues
pancho, I'm in the 2/21 800-300-150 and sent Greg a note the other day asking to be moved to 2/28. If he takes care of that, there should only be one slot left.
Edit: done. Thanks to Greg and Tom.

I noticed this earlier in the season for NY4, pointed it out to Greg, and it was fixed shortly thereafter.
I think what happened in that case was that the weekly league standings weren't updated on Sunday, might be the same this time.

Yeah, 4:15 or so for the 'B' league as well.

The Mid-Season Drafts Are Up and Running
Even though I was spared from the technical difficulties with the java applet, the interface itself is simply poorly designed. It is simply too hard to find a player in the multiple lists provided. At any point where you lost a player from your queue at the last minute and needed to re-search the li...

Rating the NFBC drafts
I just reviewed Ray Murphy's draft (baseballhq) to see where he lost points. His picks of S.Green in round 3, A.Jones in 5, K.Matsui in 6 and Jenkins in 9 were all the earliest that those players went in any draft. He may have gotten the players he valued but he valued those players more than every...

When will our teams be entered?
No bids this week... bidding OPENS this weekend, first FAAB processing is 4/3, lineups set before games of 4/4. Or at least, that's what was announced in NYC last weekend.

Rocky told people in NY that they could plug in if they could reach the outlet, which kind of aggravated me since I spent money on an extra battery the week before the draft.

Probably a good place to post this piece of news, courtesy of Rotoworld:

Stats not updated for 9/20
After speculating last week that the problems with last Sunday's waiver pickups were related to the start of football season, it's very disappointing to see that we've had another bout of Sunday/Monday problems. This competition should not be taking a back seat to Week 2 of the NFFC or football seas...

Greg, just a point of clarification on the Kotchman thing. Your timeline is a little off. I'm one of those who emailed you and STATS on Sunday. I emailed STATS at 3:50pm when I did not find Kotchman in the pool, and I can tell you that STATS did not add Kotchman to the player pool until exactly 5pm ...

Just to close the loop on this, Greg posted the appropriate rule reference in the Chris Saenz thread. As usual, he's on top of things: 7. Free Agents: Any player who is not on a team roster within your league and is on a major-league roster or once was on an NFBC team in your league is considered a ...

I now see Greg's statement to this effect in the other thread above. Still not sure the origin of the ruling, but it does appear he made it at some point. Communication of rules issues like this HAS to improve for the NFBC to thrive going forward.

Question about Chris Saenz
Greg, You posted above that Saenz would be eligible to be picked up if he was "originally drafted by an NFBC team in your league". Where is this documented? See the thread about Brandon Claussen below, I don't think you communicated this scenario well at all. Please explain when this ruling was made...

Hate to disagree with the overall leader, but I don't see any evidence to back up what KoQ says above. Nothing in the written rules, nothing I've seen here on the msg boards, nothing that was stated on draft day. The rule amendment on draft day was to the effect of "anyone can be drafted today, but ...

I feel like this is something elementary that we shouldn't have to point out to Stats, but I'm seeing it in NYC #3 league so I'll raise the issue: There should be NO ties in ratio categories. Ratios should be computed out to a sufficient decimal position to break any tie. In NYC #3 today, there are ...

Free Agents Availability?
Why would you *want* to bid as early as possible? There's no advantage at all to bidding early. There is an advantage to bidding right before the deadline, to wait for late information, further assess what your needs are (late spring injuries, surprise cuts, etc). Patience is the name of the game he...
