Re: Fish Out Of Water
I love Derek Jeter but he has done a horrible job. You are dead right Dan. Pathetic organization, with no future. I bet a lot of MLB fans, without looking too close, think they have a young team that will continue to gain experience. Wrong !! They are projected to start the following players. Curtis...

Re: For The Love of Baseball, JUST STOP!
I'm so sick of this off season that I could scream. We all have a hard time NOT following it, because once in a blue moon there is big news. But all these bloody reports. After all this time, instead of Harper finally making a decision....it goes the other way. Now 8 teams are in on him ???? Make a ...

Re: Ohtani and Oh Angels
Billy Eppler should be fired. He has Mike Trout and completely wastes any chance of making the post season. Some people think that they are saving money for a big offer on Mike Trout. I have news for them. There is no way Trout resigns if he gets within a year of free agency. The Angels have made no...

Re: Spring Training Can't Come Soon Enough
Yes this winter reminds me of my favorite baseball quote. Rogers Hornsby, St Louis Cardinal superstar,
"People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring". Rogers Hornsby

Re: Ziggers and Zaggers
Well said Dan. As a group, we really do have patterns. 2 big pitchers in round 1, a bunch in round 2 and then the remaining "very good" pitchers in round 3. By the end of round 5 in every draft, the pitchers taken are the same, and the remaining pitchers are the same. Same with hitting. 1st round is...

Yes things are excellent in the NFBC. I'm sure the NFBC could sell a lot of hats and shirts if we tried. What do you think Greg ?

Re: Home of the Brave
Regarding the Braves starting pitching, you are bang on. Their AAA rotation would be better than SEVERAL MLB teams. Seriously. What are they doing. Trade a couple and you could get Realmuto, or a star outfielder instead of Markasis. Mike Soroka, Max Fried, Luiz Gohara, Bryce Wilson and Kyle Wright. ...

Re: 12 Spots Left: Saturday 7 pm ET $125 FAAB Auction
Thanks for the info Mike. We have had 3 auctions now and prices continue to be sky high for the big players. Trout is a given, but Mookie Betts hits 50 or more regularly now, and Jose Ramirez at 48 is extremely high. Same with Lindor at 47. And wow....Jose Altuve almost hit 40 !! More and more NFBC ...

Re: Hot Stove
Yup, as a Yankee die hard, I'm not amused at Brian Cashman and Hal Steinbrenner. They have not improved at all. There has been one big plus, James Paxton. And while he has injury history, he is one hell of a starting pitcher. But their infield is actually worse and so is the bullpen. Terrible decisi...

Re: NEW NFBC FAST DC RECORD SET: 11 Hours, 56 Minutes!
Proud to be part of it. Thanks, as always, for organizing it Mike. (MTM) There was no checking to see progress, and then moaning because of long delays. You were ALWAYS close to your turn. For those that enjoy a fast pace...this was a beauty. One for the record books.

Re: Hot Stove
Yes indeed guys.....Lowrie was a strange signing by the Mets. McNeil may well have a better year than Lowrie. They have a good young cheap player in McNeil and now they seem to be blocking him. Unless Nimmo or Conforto can indeed play a good centerfield, there is no outfield spot for McNeil. Why did...

Re: Hot Stove
I'm a huge Yankees fan and a big supporter of Brian Cashman, but I hate the Britton signing. I don't get why people say he was "pretty good" with the Yankees. He was horrible. And he was horrible before he got to the Yankees. And he was horrible the year before that. Does anyone watch him pitch ? Do...

Re: Harper & Nats could cripple Robles owners
Oh boy....you are right. I debated but have not yet drafted Robles and I guess I won't be. The situation changed from "no way he is going back to Washington" to the Nats are the favorites to resign him very quickly. I often wonder why teams seem to try hard to NOT open a spot for their stud minor le...

Kimbrel and Keuchel are delusional with their demands. Kimbrel wanted 6 years and now will settle for 5 ? Snowball's chance in hell he gets 5 years, and I doubt he even gets 4. He may get 3 years. He was scary wild in the World Series and has a history of poor control. Now he is 31 (I believe). He m...

Auction schedule
Greg, Tom, Darik. I see signups are slow for the January auctions. In particular there is no chance this Sunday, as guys won't sign up when the NFL playoffs are on. The first possible auction for January, is not until the 18th. I suggest we put one on later next week (Wednesday 10th or Thursday 11th...

Re: SOLD OUT: Dec. 18 7 pm ET $125 DC Auction
Yup....our first auction did not follow the "draft pattern". And since there were a lot of experienced guys in this one, it was a surprise that we acted like kids in a candy shop and bid very aggressively on the stars. Betts and Trout both went $51. Lots of starters went over $30. A lot of $1 player...

Tuesday Auction - Last call
Need 4 more to make our 1st auction of the year happen. $125 entry. Tuesday 7 pm est. See Tom's post on this. Chance to own Trout, Betts, or Bryce Harper. And you won't have to pay 400 million for any of them.

Re: 2019 NFBC Early Draft Results
Well, after seeing over 20 drafts it is clearly a case of "How the mighty have fallen" At least for pitchers. Kershaw and Bumgarner are no longer considered elite starting pitchers. In some drafts, they are not anywhere near the top 10 starters picked. It will be interesting to see what they go for ...

Auction needed
Come on guys, we need an auction before Christmas. We can't wait till January. Greg....Tom....Darik....Andy....Todd Zola.....someone organize one. Just one to tide us over. There must be 15 guys that want a crack at Mike Trout, Mookie Betts or Max Scherzer.

Re: Modern Day Drafting
We agree on this one Dan. I'm not touching Chris Sale this year. I've always had him on one or more teams in the past, but with injuries creeping in, and I thought he had a slight velocity drop, he can't be trusted to be elite again. He MIGHT, but then again he might not. I see his price (draft or a...

Well I'm about to go in another MTM fast draft. I'm not AIMING for Trea Turner, but if I get 12-15 for my first pick, there is a good chance I'll take him. I definitely won't be taking Judge, Stanton or Harper. I'd love those guys in the 2nd round....never the first. But I didn't own Trea Turner las...

Guy that typically do these MTM fast drafts, are guys in a good mood who are fun to deal with. A cross section of experienced and less experienced guys. Grab those spots boys...
