Wells Fargo To Secure NFBC Prize Money

I just wanted to let everyone know that Krause Publications will be working with Wells Fargo to set up a separate account for all of the NFBC prize money. In fact, it's already set up and this is separate from any other business KP does. While Krause Publications and its parent company, F&W Publicat...

Who has decided to enter the NFBC and where?

We're glad to report that New York signups for the NFBC draft are starting to catch up to Las Vegas. Of the five signups yesterday, three more came in for New York. The two latest signups came in last night as Stephen Jupinka of New Jersey will go it alone in New York, while the team of Patrick Trem...

$1250 on-line league

Let me just say in all seriousness that if someone wants to compete in the NFBC but absolutely can't make any of the live drafts, they should e-mail me at ambrosiusg@krause.com and I will see what we can do. I have some unique ideas on how to expand our audience and will take everything into conside...

Yes, that's exactly how it will go. The main draft facilitator will announce the pick and it's then his job to tell the draft board facilitator who was selected and give him time to post it on the board. Once that is done, the one minute will start. Many people will actually be ready to make their p...

Glenn Schroter of Auburndale, NY is our latest entrant in the NFBC as he is all set to draft in New York. His first request was to get in an NFBC mock draft, so expect Glenn to be ready to rock 'n roll come March. Welcome to the growing NFBC family Glenn and best of luck in the contest.

Can you please explain the Playoff System...

Nope, there's no playoff. Payoff for the top three teams in each league, but that's it. If there's a typo, I will change it, but once the regular season is finished the NFBC will award the league winners and overall grand champion.

We have the most signups for Auction Leagues in Las Vegas right now and I believe that's where we'll likely have the most auction leagues. I have to believe there are a lot of Rotisserie players on the East Coast and that we'll do well there, too, but right now Las Vegas is drawing the most interest...

You are eligible if you have signed up for the NFBC. I have forwarded the names of current members to Jason and he is then extending your membership through Opening Day. You don't have to do anything except continue drafting. Since I was in Houston for the last week, I haven't sent Jason the latest ...

Okay, okay, I'm back from a damn football event and ready for eight months of nothing but baseball. Are you ready for some BASEBALL? Before talking baseball, it's time to welcome our latest members of the growing NFBC family. The latest signups, who are too shy to venture onto these Message Boards, ...

Expert League Auctions Set For Vegas

Fillmore, keeper leagues like that are great and I agree with you that they separate the novice from the baseball die-hards. I'm in an auction league like that called the XFL that was started by Ron Shandler and I admit that others knew the minor leagues much better than me last year. But it's a gre...

Just got back from Houston where there was a great football game that was overshadowed by Janet and Justin. What was up with that? Anyway, I'm glad to report that we received five signups on Super Bowl Sunday, which tells me that some guys either had good success on the big game or the thought of on...

Leagues per City - best guess

Wow, you go off to a Super Bowl party and come back to find some nice comments. Thanks much and we also feel we're onto something good. The regional concept will work. As for the league prizes, let's not speculate on how big first prize will be until we reach our goal of 300 teams. We would love to ...

No, the $100,000 grand prize will remain the same. The MLBPA is working with legislators on a bill that states that grand prizes in contests like this cannot go up or down based on the number of entries. But should we be so lucky to get above the 300 teams, we will definitely give back the same perc...

Well, I know exactly how many teams we have in each city, but more are coming in. You can certainly go through the whole thread on the main message board and see how many we have. When all is said and done, I'm convinced we'll have at least seven leagues in Las Vegas and New York and at least six in...

Yes, we will have two draft facilitators per draft and one will be responsible for the stickers. I'm sure each player is color coded for each position they qualify at, but at the very least it will be the position they played at most. We are working with a very reputable draft board company to make ...

Perry Van Hook has signed up today for the real NFBC doubleheader, competing in the Auction League on Friday night and the NFBC draft in Las Vegas on Saturday. Thanks for supporting both NFBC events, Perry. I've lost to Perry at least once in Auction Leagues and will compete against him in another l...

That's an easy one. The draft tables will be positioned in a U shape, with 10 spots down the left side (for 5 teams), 10 spots horizontally to that at the bottom and 10 spots back up the right side. Huge draft boards will be positioned at the front for all to see and the draft will flow counter-cloc...

Weapons, you need to read the Auction League rules because you do not get punished when a player gets traded to the other league after Draft Day. If you draft Carlos Beltran in the AL-only league and he gets traded to the National League on July 31, you continue to retain his stats. We certainly wan...

Nah, all that tells you is that I'm old enough to know that show first-hand, which I think first aired in 1978 when I was a college boy. Didn't get that one off Nick At Nite, that's for sure. I was a radio-TV major at the time and I wanted a job like that and a secretary like Loni Anderson. None of ...

And don't you hate it when the big fat guy always draws the middle seat in a plane next to you? I'm flying to Houston tomorrow and I'm sure that will happen. I'm not sure about the tape on the tables, but I'll ask Les Nesman of WKRP if he can tape out an imaginary office for me in each city. Serious...
