Re: Notes to Players
i remember all the bad blood with greinke and quentin. that pitch was maybe 4 inches inside. most pitchers today throw outside 4 inches not inside by 4 inches. the game has changed because pitchers won't throw inside. the thing the cracks me up is carlos trying to get an explanation. greinke- "ok c...

WAR says differently. Since when does somebody have to be the best of this decade to be the best right now? So in your well informed, uber metrics opinion... who is the best player in baseball? Mike Trout? If one year is your measure and range is your most important category ( ), then Miggy i...

Simply watch the guy play third base and then make your judgement. He is very consistent and will soon get the credit he deserves for it. Awesome last year and it was his first in many years. Many thought it would detract from his hitting. He won the triple crown while being outstanding changing po...

AL MVP - This one is easy... the best player in baseball makes it 2 in a row. Miguel Cabrera You can't be the best player in baseball when (speaking of #20) Mike Schmidt's 65 yr old ass can play a better 3B than you. Now if you want to say best hitter that's a different story. The REAL best player ...

Re: HOME PLATE COLLISIONS
If a team owner or manager wants the catcher protected he can simply teach his catcher - and maintain a policy - not to block the plate. Problem solved. As a former catcher who learned how to (and how not to) block the plate when I was in little league, I resent the need for a rule here. Posey got ...

Re: HOME PLATE COLLISIONS
Boy, I'm glad they didn't put any rules in football where you can't hit a defenseless player. Or you can't touch a QB now because they're defenseless. That would suck since football is so tough... Swamp is right. The player should get to score because it's the catchers fault he's a sitting duck for ...

Re: New Braves Outfield!
Games aren't played on paper. You still have to beat Hamels, Halladay, and Lee. It's all about the health of Halladay, Chase, and Howard. Nats and Braves are definitely favorites, but it's crazy to say that 3rd place is the Phils ceiling. You can say 3rd is likely, but ceiling? This game is littered...

Re: How Many Days In Advance Do You Want Draft Picks?
This is a small sample size, but the %'s are enormous. ABC and FOX news has projected that one week KDS drawings a week in advance are here to stay for all but the private leagues. They have done this before the polls have closed on the West Coast. ;) Everyone doesn't try to make a living at this, ...

Re: How Many Days In Advance Do You Want Draft Picks?
I don't think it would work real good in a room with 7-8 leagues. You have to stand there with all your crap waiting for your name to get pulled out of the hat because you don't have a seat yet. Then you have to figure out what draft spots are left and then choose one...although it was fun, it was ...

Re: How Many Days In Advance Do You Want Draft Picks?
We decided our draft slots right before the draft in the MTM Super last year. Although it was a nice wrinkle and we had a blast doing it, I don't think it would work real good in a room with 7-8 leagues. You have to stand there with all your crap waiting for your name to get pulled out of the hat be...

Doesn't matter to me as much in baseball as there is not as much potential for drastic change to how your team will be shaped in the early rounds. Obviously there can be some important information though, so my vote would be close to the deadline. I voted for 24-48 hours in advance. Comes down to i...

Re: How Many Days In Advance Do You Want Draft Picks?
I also wonder how different the results would be if the poll was worded "How long to do want to be able to set your KDS prior to your draft?" At first glance, why wouldn't people vote to have their spot earlier? Chad- What do you mean? This isn't a poll to set your KDS a week before you get your dr...

Re: How Many Days In Advance Do You Want Draft Picks?
Yes, I would rather have current information when setting KDS. I think that is far more important to me than preparing for a draft after receiving my spot. Not near as much so as in football though. To do KDS correctly, I feel I need to prepare for the draft before setting it. And that means prepar...
