Re: Comfort In Players & Comfort In Our Game
I actually like the first concept a whole lot more than the second. The top 75 is easy. Just use the NFBC top 75 for some recent period of time. I'm sure at least 65 of those players will be on everyone's top 75 list. The others will be each owner's "value picks". The second concept defeats one of t...

Re: Giancarlo "Don't Call Me Mike, Mutha" Stanton
A conspiracy person would suggest that the Marlin will go all out for three years to win it all. Then over the next three years, they will reduce themselves to a bad team for when the option year kick in. Even if MLB economics change more than expected over the next six year, this contract will hamp...

Re: What Technical Improvements Do You Want In '15?
Setting up lists in DC leagues is very very time consuming. I prefer not to combine hitters and pitchers in my lists so I create a separate list of just hitters and another of just pitchers. I have to renumber all pitchers to very high numbers to separate hitters and pitchers. Doing this I lose the ...

Re: Love this time of the year
Too bad the Nats weren't playing the Reds. The Nats played all backups for a days rest for regulars after a night of celebrating a pennant. The Reds did the same thing but because of ineptness the night before according to their manager. Talk about needed a scorecard to know the players. Of course t...

Re: play at plate
I can foresee a line crossing the third-to-home baseline about 8-10 feet from home plate. If the catcher has the ball prior to the runner reaching that line, he can be where ever he wants to be. This would be the MLB equivalent to the NBA charge/no charge line.

Re: Post ASB Lineups
my variation to the question is "can we reset pitchers on Monday July 21?" I clearly appears that Greg said "yes".
Now if teams would just announce their rotations so we can see how many MRs we need to put in our lineups this week for next week's Monday & Tuesday starters.

Re: George Springer, Archie Bradley, Gregory Polanco Sweepst
Don't they estimate that it costs a club $12M, on average, for that extra year of arbitration? Given the rotten Diamondback start and their chances of making the playoff given this start, they may have 12 million reason to keep him down. It is only about 6 additional lost starts right now. And that ...

how to draft a missing player
If I wanted to draft Greg Ambrosius, for example, I assume I would draft a placeholder and state on the board who the place holder was for. Is that correct? How does "NFBC Central" know to add Greg to my team?

in a DC draft, when you you begin looking at minor leaguers who were expected to come up after Super Two dates. Buxton is an example, maybe Syndergaard - I am sure there are others who could/should be drafted but where should serious looking begin.

Re: ADP Availablity
Glad to be back. Sort of a catch-22. I want to review ADPs prior to drafting. But the DC drafts start right after the sign up not allowing time for what I want. Planning to draft my team in March and due to other commitments is cannot be before March 10. I don't want to be one of those who go the 8 ...

ADP Availablity
I'm sure ADP number change weekly or so. Plus, I suspect there is a means to get ADP numbers that reflect more recent drafts and not those from before 2014. For those of us who are going to buy DC teams but are not ready to draft, how can we access these numbers down the road but enough before our d...

Re: Dancing With Myself 2 OR... More Mocksturbation
Back when I did straight drafts and not doing auctions exclusively, I did a variation of what you are doing. I would take an ADP list or actual league drafting list. I would normally do three different self drafts against those list. One from the 4th spot, one from the 8th spot and one from the 12th...

Re: Rizzo Loves Kinickie......And Strasburg
being a Nats season ticket holder, albeit in a group of about 20 and attending only about 10 games a year, I guess I have an opinion with a bit more "at stake" than most. First, with Boras as his agent, I find it hard that a home-town discount will happen although in five years who knows. Second, I ...

Re: Junk
I have to take a small issue with your Little league observations. Pitch limits may be seem to be stupid but you may not have seen an adult manager have a 10 year old pitcher throw over 200 pitches in a 6 inning game in an effort win. I have. Many adults are living their lost youth in the arms of 10...
