Re: NYC 1st weekend Drafts and Auctions
Thanks for starting this Alan. I would also like to add my thanks to Tom for running a first-class event with Dean and the rest of the facilitators over the weekend. With this being my 3rd year in ME's, it's so great seeing so many familiar smiling faces as we see each other enter the room. It reall...

Wayne, looking forward to it as well, especially the (literally) face-to-face staredown if we are the last 2 bidding on the same player

Re: New York March 22nd NFBC Main Event Leagues
Not only am I in a league with Lowry and Juprinka , but our 1st overall champ, last year's auction champ, and a slew of other tough competitors. If there were odds on winning this league, I'd get quite a price to bet on myself. Looking forward to the challenge fellas - see ya on Saturday.

Re: Q&A or Just B.S. With Greg & Tom Here
by Greg Ambrosius The live draft board is done now and after a player is picked a large sticker with the player's photo and name will appear on the screen for 10 seconds. Everyone should have no trouble seeing who was just picked. Then that big sticker will go away and the big board will remain on t...

Re: Q&A or Just B.S. With Greg & Tom Here
by Greg Ambrosius Then the answer for that contest is to end it 8 days earlier. Got it. Sorry Greg for jumping in, to end the contest before the games start is the best solution. One question though that this brought up for me. For the live events, these winning pitchers will be write-ins if middle...

Re: Q&A or Just B.S. With Greg & Tom Here
I'm going to throw this idea out there even though it probably won't fly. How about for anyone still drafting a DC after the Dodgers-DBacks games are played to not be allowed to draft the winning pitchers in those games unless they have been previously drafted in a prior DC league. Because it's a pl...

Re: A List of Names
by DOUGHBOYS There could be no enforcement. The drafters would have to be taken at their word that they will perform to the level signed. Fair point Dan. The fast, medium, slow idea is probably best to bring up again in September or October when next year's slow draft season starts. I would think it...

Re: A List of Names
A great idea Dan and 1 that was brought up last year. I think the only potential issue is enforcement. 90%-95% would likely have no issues if people lived up to their preferred choice, but what about the league(s) where a slow or medium drafter enters a fast one (by mistake or they just don't care b...

Re: Tips / Etiquette for first time DC player
The fact that you are starting a thread to ask is the 1st sign you are on the right path. It is important to have courtesy for your fellow drafters, so I echo the last comments to let the draft room know when you won't be available, particularly if there are times every day you won't be able to pick...

Re: Slow Draft League, Slow Owner
Agreed on our draft. I have been in 2 pretty slow ones, but at least in this one, I know our 2 picks will either be early in the morning or late at night, so there is some stability of a daily schedule. I don't know for sure, but would say after being a part of Mia's draft last year and hearing abou...

YES.
This question is like asking Gekko if his name is Mark. You're always going to get the same answer regardless of league, and often times, the answer is correct at the end of the year.

Re: explanation on questionable draft?
It is amusing how threads like this take on a life on their own. The fact is that newbies will never get to see the ADP's unless they sign up for a league. If they don't like what they see, they either start a thread like the original poster did and get the answer that was provided in 5 minutes by D...

The theory was that all 3 finishers got a free main event entry. Since STATS took over, all prizes are paid in cash, but the prize payouts for this format haven't changed.

Re: What would be nice...
Keep in mind it's only December. The prize pool is based on over 100 leagues and many, including myself, want to wait until 2014 to draft. That is when the Express leagues, "like minded drafters" options like Dan's (Doughboys) leagues and 4 hr clocks will give you more choices. My advice would be to...

Re: 12 Spots Left For $150 Draft Champions 11
I guess DC 1 spoiled me. We did the whole 50 rounds in under 2 weeks and nearly everyone said they enjoyed the draft. People aren't saying that about DC 6. Yes, I would say it did. To me, the most frustrating part of the slow DC drafts is when people aren't courteous and leave everyone hanging. Alt...

Re: NFBC Cutline Championship Rules
Since there is no head to head records in baseball, there is no need for a Wild Card round. With this said, the question is whether 2 teams are enough to make the Championship weeks for a half season of play. I would say 3 is probably better and 5 is too much.

Greg,
I think it would be a good idea to put your post in a NFBC newsletter and/or the rules so that those not following the message boards/new players can see how these DC leagues should be.

Re: Triple Play Main Event Prize $300,000, proposal
everyone who posted here has liked this concept, that it solves the dilemna of satisifying those who want bigger ME stakes without alienating those who are price sensitive to the current entry fee, and that it gives him the big ticket prize that he needs/wants to attract a bigger pool of players. I ...
