Predictions for Chicago 1?

Diamond, I pretty much agree with your assessment. Well prepared group, a few surprises but not a ton. This is my 3rd year ... I probably lost more guys within 2-3 picks of my selection this year than the first two combined. I hope I was able to return the favor at least once or twice. ;) I wound up...

You know, as a matter of principle you're right. Perhaps "The King" came from buffet-line prowess. Time will eventually tell whether he ever earns it on the field. I think he will one day. For my sake, I hope he begins the process this season.

Well, Jupiter, if nothing else I'm setting him up for a demotion. Now, if he had a shorter name he would have saved me the trouble. After all, I went with R. Clemens as opposed to "the Rocket". ;)

sran ... I see some high risk-high reward guys. If enough of them pan out, you should be OK. In general, I think I like your IF better than your OF (lots of risk in that OF). I think you'll be just fine in speed, average and probably runs but like you say, will probably look to add some power during...

Manny vs. Soriano

I agree. I don't like Soriano one bit this year. He's still not running and it makes you wonder with his poor plate discipline what might happen if he's not 100%. In fact, I'll go out on a limb and say worst case scenario, Soriano could be the next Juan Samuel.

Well, Raffy has been pimping Viagra for a few years now. If anyone isn't afraid of the potential media glare of a lawsuit like this, it ought to be Raffy. ;)

Which bid wins?

I'd say Sosa in both cases. The way I understand the rules, your 1st bid will be processed in its entirety. In both cases, you lost your primary but would have been awarded your contingency bid, in both cases releasing Sosa. The system will then move on to Bid 2 which in both cases would be a noneve...

Scott Rolen Stats Error

At Monday 10:30 AM CDT, this still has not been corrected. I'm still short a hit and 2 RBIs when I pull up my team's stats. In fact, if you link to Rolen's stats from STATS' own site, Rolen's numbers are accurate and the scoring change has been reflected. My guess is, they updated the overall number...

Scott Rolen Stats Error

On Friday night against Colorado, Rolen hit a ball that was dropped at the LF wall by Holliday. Two runs scored on the play. The play was originally scored a 3-base error. Since, the scoring has been changed and Rolen has been credited with a triple and 2 RBIs. I notice at ESPN's stats section this ...

I was in Chicago #2--Pick 2. The goal was to focus early on position and category scarcity. I was pleased Soriano fell to the 2nd pick, I know I'm in the minority but he would have been my 1st selection. The plan was to wait on OF and P, especially RP as I thought I's be able to get some middle tier...

Chicago NFBC League #2

Tough call on Sheff. We all know what he can do when healthy. Problem is, he's not healthy. He performed well the 2nd half of last year after he initially hurt the thumb, and he's a guy that seems to play through pain. In that lineup, he's obviously intriguing. BUT ... he might be one tweak away fro...

What kind of info? I'll tell you that my team will be named the Antioch Apocalypse. I figure if I win this thing, it will be a sign of a coming apocalypse. ;) Hard to argue the ARod selection. He seems to be the guy taken 1st in most drafts I've seen. You pretty much know what you're getting, and it...

All set and have already done a couple drafts, thanks. Very nice site BTW. I should have probably posted a followup but enough time had passed where I figured it was moot. Thanks again.

How will draft order work? Will it still be d...
