Re: Super Two Rule

Totally agree. Even accepting the basic system and this "Super Two" status and it's impact on delaying eligibility for arbitration, it is a TOTAL JOKE that the "magic day" is going to be in the next week or so but no one seems to know when it will be. Pick a date - say June 15 - and fix it before th...

Re: Met Fans- Harvey vs Fernandez

Face it - both the Yankees and the Mets have over-priced their tickets and it definitely is hurting attendance. If they lowered some of the pricing, they would sell more tickets and probably wind up with greater revenue. Not as familiar with the Mets, but I think the Yankees got spoiled with incredi...

Re: PED's and me

While I would feel badly for anyone who loses a key player on their fantasy team due to a PED suspension that truly was a surprise, I don't think many Braun owners fall into that camp (or ARod owners or Cruz owners, etc). This story has been out for a while, and with the possible exception of early ...

Re: Top 60 ADP- Gold or Bust?

Looking at the top 60 in ADP and 1/2 of them are complete washouts or probably going to be washouts, especially relative to where they were drafted and what owners needed from them. Seems slots 30-60 are really stinking it up this year. Any of these under achievers have a chance of turning it aroun...

Re: FAAB - Tony Cingrani

Yeah, I guess the two wins and being undefeated in six starts was not enough. The 41 to 9 K/BB ratio In 33 innings must have been quite the letdown for Dusty. After all, we are talking about Mike Leake! Bitter? Who me?

Re: Save Killers

Frustrating, but the blown save is far worse. I was cursing Greg Holland earlier today. Was practically counting my save (along with a win for Shields on a different team of mine) and then I get: 1 IP, 4 H, 1 BB, 1ER. A nice 9.00 ERA and 5.00 WHIP for the day. Goddamn relievers!

Re: Roto Snips

Looks like Tulo is sitting out tonight's game due to "heavy legs."

I've heard of pitchers' arms feeling heavy, but never heavy legs. Perhaps Tulo's body is tired because he hasn't been on the DL once so far this year.

Re: FAAB - Tony Cingrani

Bid $178 and $122 in two leagues and won him in both. A little nervous about Dusty, and that he may only be good for 5-6 innings per start, but I hadn't spent much FAAB in either league and the potential upside was too good to pass up. Will be interesting to see how he pans out.

Re: The NFBC Dictionary

I think there needs to be a word for the moment of sheer panic when you see that Rick Porcello gave up nine earned runs without getting out of the first inning and you can't remember if you started him on any of your teams. Roto-panic? Then, of course, there also needs to be a word for the feeling o...

Re: Aaron Hill Out 4-6 Weeks With A Broken Hand

I'd like to hear from people with the Aaron Hill/Jose Reyes MI Yup, that's one of my Draft Championship teams. My MI went from Hill, Reyes, Walker to Walker, Descalso, Turner (Furcal also was picked for this team). Ouch! I'd grin and bear it a little easier if these were 15-day DL stints, but it's ...

It's great, unless you have Edwin Jackson starting on one of your teams, in which case five earned runs in the first two innings just pisses you off before going back to your work.

Re: The Official "Why Did I Draft Josh Hamilton?" Thread

I don't have Hamilton on any of my eight teams. I really thought Hamilton, and Stanton, were overpriced given numerous risks. Last year, Hamilton put up great numbers, but he also looked truly horrible at times. His contact rate is a big question mark for me, plus he's hitting in a tougher hitting h...

Re: Team Write Up

I enjoyed the read. I like reading about other folks' strategy during drafts. I think you've identified your team's primary weaknesses. Back end starters should be obtainable in FAAB, but I think you may struggle with speed and possibly batting average, which may be tougher to obtain effectively mid...

Re: Slowest of the Slow Drafts

I am in a really slow one right now (Round 45, we started on February 24). Mostly, it has been two really slow pickers, who refused to even acknowledge others' pleas for some consideration. They repeatedly took 4-8 hours per pick, and would never use the chat function. Frankly, when it became clear ...

Re: names on the move

Bryce Harper is a big mover-upper and R.A. Dickey seems to be a mover-downer from the early DC drafts to more recent ones.

J. Upton also has climbed since the trade.
