Prediction: Gekko will be the first owner to make $1,000,000 in earnings through high stakes fantasy events. You heard it here first. Thanks for your support.

Go for it!

That would be awesome!

You're on your way, GG. I like to see the goals set high...you never know. That would be a story worthy of all major periodicals.

It will never happen. When you get to $500,000 Walla Walla will kidnap you, get all your money in ransom, and then dump your body in the river. Where you will be swimmin' wit da fishes while I take home the check to pass 1 million in earnings. :D

I’m just thankful that the greatest fantasy sports player in history hasn’t heard about NFBC Ultimate yet. With a stated goal of being the first guy to $1 million, you’d think he’d pounce on the highest-stakes league in history. Please, nobody tell him about it…I don’t know if we could handle the competition.

Oh, wait! From the message board archives dated Nov 10, 2004 -- Gordon Gekko on NFBC Ultimate: “Too rich for me.”

MaW - here's how you quote someone...

next time you write a post like the one above, why don't you use the following verbiage or something similar...

"Greg -- I'm dying over here. I don't know what to do. I didn't win the big $ in fantasy sports this year, and I desperately need the "goodie bag". I am lost without it. I will pay for you to next-day-air it to me. Please...oh please...Greg."

at the end of the season, I'll take a look at where you finished in the 5K league and ask if you felt satisfied with making the donation.

tsk, tsk, Mark. The real Gordon Gekko would be so disappointed right now. When the real Gordon Gekko lost $10 MILLION on Bluestar Airlines, he said, "It's only money." The FAKE Gordon Gekko says about $5K, "Too rich for me."

But I digress. This is really just a misunderstanding, Mark. We're both agreed that you're the greatest fantasy player in history. I'm merely thanking you for talking smack in a $650 league so that the rest of us can have a chance in Ultimate. Lord knows I wouldn't want you to take the obvious route towards $1 million by entering Ultimate.

Maroon and White = donation. Maybe so, Mark, maybe so. But I'm entering Ultimate to have fun and to compete against the best. If I win, great...if not, it will still be fun. That's how we mere mortals approach the game.

But, oh, if I were The Greatest Fantasy Player In History (is it ok to start capitalizing that? Seems like it should be a title instead of a description, don't you think?) though, I don't know how I could pass up such an easy shot at $40K. But I guess that's why you're the greatest (sorry! "The Greatest"), and I'm just a donator.

Just to be clear, though...you're still not entering Ultimate, right?

Gordon, you are really becoming a bore. Its the same old talk post after post......but when its in person like it was in vegas(where u might have ran into a couple blackeyes for talking and running your mouth) your responce was"i didnt wanna cause any friction" Grow some balls you would get more respect if you backed your big INTERNET talk in person

why would i "run my mouth" in person knowing there are people like you out there? everyone is at the draft to have a good experience (me included). to be honest, while at the event, i don't have time for people like you. i have no interest in talking with you or meeting you. get the picture.

i don't care if you or others respect me. if you do, that's great. if you don't, i won't lose any sleep over it. the main objective for me in fantasy sports is to cash in.

sorry if you don't have enough willpower to stop reading them.

I'm doing the main event, and the Ultimate Auction on Sunday. Should be an interesting weekend.

[/QUOTE]BalticSquids likes to bust my hump about using a laptop at the AL Auction last year. I was really surprised when I was one of the only owners to use one--apparently I came off as something of an expert b/c of the computer. When I finished in 7th (or whatever), I guess my expert tag disappeared.

In all seriousness, the laptop really helps, especially if you're alone at the auction. Money management is a critical factor.

you going solo in the 5K auction?
