For all of you so quick to hate on Beckett. Take a look at his 2009 Game Log for the month of April compare to 2010. He is a notorious slow starter and he could actually have a better start to his season this year than last year still. Through 5 starts last year he had a 7.22 ERA and has a 7.22 ERA through only 4 this year. oh yeah in 2009 he got his ERA down to 3.10 by August 12. It's April People!!!

Conan! What is best in life?
To kill the Red Sox
To see Josh Beckett driven before you
And to hear the lamentation of the Gammons

Beckett
Yankee fans have the same refrain about Teixeira.
I have to admit I would be more concerned about Beckett.
He has his fat contract in hand.
Losing his two best defensive outfielders to injury(How many times does Bill Hall have to prove that he cannot play center field?) then, let's throw in a bullpen that has been brutal to date.
Plus,I know Red Sox fans don't want to hear it, but they are missing Bay in the middle of that lineup. Not re-signing him was a swing and a miss.
Beckett will not follow the same path this year as last year.

WHIP- 1.84 I know you showed these numbers to perpetuate that Beckett last year is similar to the Beckett of this year.
But what strikes me is that Beckett's k rate has fallen substantially from last year to this year.
Small sample size, of course, but if he doesn't miss as many bats this year, it could make for a long season.
