I guess I didn't bid enough on aza. Who was able to secure his services? Anyone pay the big bucks I thought he'd go for?

I paid over 700 for him in the national league auction.I had to have him after drafting Alex Sanchez and no outfieders on my bench, did have Sweeney but he just went dl.I also did get him in the ultimate for just over 200, and just over 100 in a few other leagues.I guess he's my new favorite player.

Unfotunately, assuming he hits 8th, in front of the pitcher, he will not have many SB opportunities.

Hey Gekko,

Pump up Aza to get hairston huh? Not like you had quentin and needed the OF huh. No mention of Hairston but yet you dropped Aza's name like no tomorrow. If i didnt have quentin on my team myself i would of pumped him up so much that your little 130 bid would not of landed him.

Nice poker face, but i read your cards!

I'm in the same boat as Eddie, darfted Sanchez in main and need the speed. Paid 175, got him in a couple other leagues for just over 100. We'll see how it turns out...could be waste or nice investment.

Nice poker face, but i read your cards! 1. I'm very good at texas holdem

2. I only mentioned 1 player last week. I didn't mention many players, such as d.young, e.dukes, or hairston.

3. I bid on aza but not enough. I had hairston graded out higher, only because of the uncertainity of quentin's return.

fireballs, just the opposite, what does he have to lose by running,, he is not taking the bat out of hand of pitcher. what else is going to happen down there. but i could be wrong, anyway not much lost for $53. ofers

There is a reason a lot of stolen bases don't come out of the 8 spot in line up. Gotta get that line up turned over and don't want the pitcher leading off the next inning. And if there are less than 2 outs, pitcher will bunt him over. So, as fireball said, will not get many SB opportunities if he stays in the 8 spot.

I got him for 250 on my main event team. The next bid was 46. The funny part about this is I got him because Shawn Green was sucking up a storm in preseason and only to find out Kendry Morales was sent down and I still have to start Green. LOL At least Green was off to a good start last might. I still needed Aza for my UT and move my UT to replace Morales's. Really thought Morales was going to stick with the Angels. Oh well.

No way a team is gonna run and risk not turning over the line up. So I stand by my statement that a batter in the 8 th spot in order is not gonna run much, especially early to midway through a game.

I am desperate for steals. I did not bid on this minor leaguer whose only claim to fame right now is he beat out Alex Sanchez and Eric Reed. Throw a party! He would have had more competition if Eddie Gaedel had been in camp. ;)

If you are so hard up on the empty stats his 15-20 SB will bring you, Willie Bloomquist is still probably available. And cheaper, too! :D

You also have to remember in NL auction league's there is nothing on the waiver wire, after the Z MAN ,the only other outfielder was GYWNN JR.Nice start to his career , 2 hits and 2 runs.

And A GREAT BASE stealer will still go with two outs sometimes depending on a lot of things .The inning , the pitcher hitting, and if your down one run late, just to name a few.
