Andy, is there some way to rank players on that site that I'm missing?
RTS lists no fewer than 980 players in their rankings. It's a real walk down memory lane. Do you have a hunch Tsuyoshi Nishioka might return to the states after five years to see if he can move his lifetime batting average off the real Mendoza Line? You can put him up for bid. Others available are ManRam, Pronk, the Adam/Drake LaRoche father/son team and many others who will never wear MLB uniforms - shy of an old timers game - ever again. It wouldn't matter, but various one dollar bid guys are sprinkled in liberally and it makes finding them during the auction, and especially the quick moving draft portion of an FAAB league, kind of difficult.

Re: NFBC Online Auctions (need 12 125 dc 6pm 1/28)
The reason drafters enter these contests is because of the auction format.
The auction is the fun part of putting together 23 pieces of our 50 player roster.
The remaining 27 players that is done through slow draft means, tedious by comparison.
This portion of the draft is all but forgotten by many drafters.
Why not take away the tedium?
Change the clock to one or two hours to finish these puppies up.
It would appease those that check in frequently, while still giving enough time to those that do not, to load their queues and possibly go on auto.
Auctions are not tied to the Overall DC contest.
They are stand-alone leagues.
I feel most would want the slow draft portion of auctions to be given a time boost.

This makes a lot of sense. Two hours max, but one hour would be ideal.

Re: NFBC Online Auctions (need 12 125 dc 6pm 1/28)
When you get to the point where you are setting up NL-only online auctions, which you had previously indicated might be in March, I would be interested in FAAB at any $$ level. Thx. Seth

Add me to the list that agree 100% with Doughboys. Using a 1 hour clock would not be annoying to the participants, compared to a 4 hour clock. The general point here should be that yes, an owner can employ any strategy he wants after paying his money.....technically....BUT, every drafter should have respect for the group he is playing with. If the large majority want to speed it up, then that particular drafter should try hard to oblige. Sure we all want to win money and go about it using our own chosen method, but the NFBC is set up to be both a "possible" money winner, but a "definite" type of enjoyment. A terrific hobby that we all all love, and then that extra "maybe I can win money" on top of the enjoyment.
I could spread a false injury rumour an hour before an auction, and guys might be hesitant to pay proper value for that player, as they scramble to find out the truth. I then buy the player at a discount. But in a million years I would NEVER do that, because I respect the group. In closing, in my opinion, the NFBC is (or should be) about Enjoyment, money, and respect. All 3 are feasable. And if you lose your money, you still feel good about the fun and the respect you have shown, and received.

Re: NFBC Online Auctions ($125 FAAB 1/27 or $125 DC 1/28)
I’d be up for Sat the 27th, but since u have no others signed up it doesn’t look good. Otherwise, I can do Friday, Feb 2nd. $125/$250 doesn’t matter. I’d prefer FAAB, but if DC is what the people want then that’s fine too.
Re: NFBC Online Auctions ($125 FAAB 1/27 or $125 DC 1/28)
Andy if we can fill Sat 27th, I’d be interested if you want to put me down as tentative for now to see how interest goes.
Re: NFBC Online Auctions $125 FAAB 1/27(9) or $125 DC 1/28(8
Would prefer FAAB on the 27th, but I'll do both if we can only get 14 for the DC auction. Thanks, Andy.
