Kent Stermon Wins New York $2500 Auction & $20,000

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Mon Oct 02, 2017 6:20 pm

Kent Stermon of Jacksonville, Florida enjoys a good, competitive league with a bunch of damn good owners and he found what he was looking for in New York the last couple of years. He's been competing in the New York $2500 Auction League as part of the NFBC's Auction Championship and this year he came away with the league title and the $20,000 prize, while finishing 14th overall.

Kent finished with 112 points in a very, very competitive league. Michael DeCavalcante finished second with 110 points to earn $6,000, while Ante Meich finished a half-point behind to win $3,000. Great job everyone.

Here's the final standings:

NFBC New York $2500 Auction Championship League
Chest Rockwell auction 112
The Achievers - AC 110
Dead Rabbits 109.5
Roy's Outlaws 100
Emma/Srebro $2500 Mixed 96
My Alter Ego 93

Kent did a great job in the auction portion of this league, but he might have won the title in the Reserve Round. He got Cody Bellinger in the 4th round of the Reserve portion and Jose Berrios in the 5th round. Those two guys were acquired after 400+ players were auctioned off and drafted. Amazing. In the auction, Kent built his team around Nolan Arenado at $41, Chris Sale $29, Xander Bogaerts $37, Ryan Braun $24, Eric Hosmer $14 and Miguel Sano $11. Josh Bell for $1 and Zach Davies for $1 were big helps, but not everything went according to plan. Zach Britton at $19 was injured and Cole Hamels at $16 disappointed.

But great job Kent and congrats on the title. Let's do this again next year.
