Team Stuff

Post by DOUGHBOYS » Tue May 09, 2017 12:28 pm

The Nationals and Yankees have both scored twice as many runs as the Royals.

The Red Sox have struck out around 40 less times, offensively, than any other team in baseball.

The Rays have struck out 40 more times than any other team in baseball.

The Kansas City Royals have drawn one intentional walk this year.
An investigation has been launched to answer why there was even one.

The Boston Red Sox are the only team that has not sacrificed a runner this year.

Anthony Rizzo has been hit by more pitches than the ...
Athletics
Giants
Nationals
Blue Jays
Twins

Manny Machado has been missed by attempted pitches more than the...
Athletics
Giants
Nationals
Blue Jays
Twins

When we think about Chicago, some think of crime.
The White Sox don't fit.
The Sox and Diamondbacks have both been caught stealing 10 times.
The Diamondbacks were successful 37 times.
The White Sox?
Nine.

Along with striking out the most in baseball, the Rays also have drawn the most walks.
(As if Tampa baseball couldn't get more boring)
You would think that, sabr-wise, the Rays would be one of the highest scoring teams in baseball, given the leadership in walks.
They're not.
18th in run scoring.

Remember the World Series with the Royals and Giants?
Good times.
Today, they are the lightest scoring teams in baseball.
The Royals going all out in averaging less than three runs a game.

The Royals have 65 extra base hits.
The Nationals have 72 doubles
The Nationals have 127 extra base hits

Get this...it is May 9 and the Royals are still looking for their first three run homer or grand slam.

Micro-Manage the FAAB list?
The Braves and Twins have only played 29 games.

The Cincinnati Reds have a better record than the Chicago Cubs.
Last checked, Hell has not frozen over and Trump has not shown humbleness.

The Texas Rangers are second in baseball with 19 quality starts
They have 13 Wins.
Sam Dyson happens.

Remember when hitters (and their owners) were disappointed with 4-0-1-0 box score?
The average Major League batter hits .247
Seriously.

The Orioles have had 20 Save opportunities.
The White Sox, 6.
David Robertson owners desperately scouring RotoWorld for trade news...

The New York Mets have committed 24 errors.
Their players, that is.

The Royals have committed the least amount of errors in baseball (9)
Good field, no hit applies.

The San Francisco Giants have hit five home runs in their home park this year.
The heart of the order- Pence, Posey, and Belt, have zero there.
Averaging over 41,000 in attendance over 14 games, the Giants are averaging less than one home run per every 100,000 fans.
The Giants really need Madison Bumgarner to come back!

Sorry Royals fans-
They have just given me more material than other teams... :)

One addendum...

To the dismay of fantasy owners, mainly Charlie Blackmon, DJ LeMahieu, and Ian Desmond owners, Bud Black has managed the Colorado Rockies as Earl Weaver managed the Baltimore Orioles.
The Rockies have speed, but Black is harnessing that speed.
The Rockies are last in baseball with seven stolen bases.
Most of those, only coming with the lead in the ball game.

funny on colorado- san diego stole plenty with black and colorado has the same gm as last year so it isn't coming from the top- unless everyone had an "ah ha" moment and decided it wasn't worth it.

John Farrell must read your posts, Dan. The Sox sacrificed last night for the first time this season.

Bound to happen, Em! :D

Some other team stuff...

Teams are almost four times likely to run on the Pittsburgh Pirates (41 attempts) than on the Philadelphia Phillies
(11 attempts)

The Boston Red Sox and Chicago Cubs have not had a pitcher called for a balk since 2015.
The San Diego Padres and Colorado Rockies have five balks this year

Josh Harrison was hit by a pitch three consecutive plate appearances earlier in the season.
The Dodgers pitching staff has hit two batters this year.
The Boston Red Sox missed Manny Machado more times.

The Cleveland Indians with Cody Allen and Andrew Miller are the only team in baseball without a blown Save.
The Tampa Bay Rays have nine.
The White Sox have had six Save opportunities

Aaron Judge has hit 10 home runs in Yankee Stadium
The San Francisco Giants have hit five home runs at AT&T Park
