Re: "Midnight Madness Draft!"in Vegas Friday Night 3/31
We are now officially at 11 with a couple "waiting in the wings" according to our fearless leader, Greg Ambrosius. So let's see who he gets to step forward and claim the last spot. All I can say is just come to the party ready to draft on Friday night! The bar, snacks, and whatever cold food remnants will be available until at least 1:00 a.m. So anyone in this draft is free to partake. Draft will start about 11:30 p.m., and no reason why we can't bang this baby out in about two hours or so given the veterans on board for this puppy. So in summary, GAME ON! And see everyone Friday night.

Re: "Midnight Madness Draft!"in Vegas Friday Night 3/31
Guys I just wanted to throw this in here as well... there are 2 Live OC $350 leagues at 10 AM and 1 PM on Friday that need to be filled if people want to do more live drafts. I'm desperately trying to fill them so I can do a live draft. If anyone in this league wants to do another cheap live draft please join or let them know about it because I'm not sure people saw Greg's post about it hidden in there with 400 other posts about live drafts. I'd also love to do this league in the future, but this year would be tough since we have non drafters with us this year who want to go out at night.

Thanks Dave. Would love to have had you in this one. Just an update that I spoke with Greg today and he assured us that we'll be at 12 by party time. I am also working on a couple of guys myself just in case. But either way, everyone be prepared for "Showtime" and some "Midnight Madness" this Friday night at the party! And to remind everyone, for this year, it's going to be a live $350 OC event. Next year it will go down as my original idea when I have more lead time to put this all together hopefully with Greg's blessing ( or with the blessing of whoever is in charge at that time if Greg has been canned by then ) It's going be nice and cozy and casual with the set up and seating, but we'll make it work with the room space that we have. Can't wait to see everyone there!

This sounds like fake news from someone who wishes he had my job. Yeah, that's it.
I struck out on the two owners I thought would do the Midnight Madness draft. I don't know who's on the list now, but I'm calling around today for our Friday 1 pm OC Plus League and will keep recruiting for this one as well. But I can only guarantee that if fill it we will run it. Let's see the list and keep pushing everyone, even if Friday is my last day on the job.

The great Dan Semsel was recruited by yours truly this afternoon, and he has graciously agreed to stay up way past his bed time to join us to round out this league to an even 12! So we are a go, Greg. I don't have either Matt Shepherd's or Paul Weber's cell numbers, so you'll need to relay the details if they aren't tracking on here. More to come when I land tonight, but we are a go as of now, so everyone come prepared to eat, drink, be merry, and draft!

Re: "Midnight Madness Draft!"in Vegas Friday Night 3/31
Here's the final list of competitors for this bad boy!
1. MTM (because this wast just too good not to do!)
2. Bryan Vogel (because he said he's in for anything and I don't want to hear his bitching if I don't add him to the list now!)
3. Scott Waggener (he's in for a Main Event if it shakes out this way or we all agree on this contest in the end)
4. Mario Malgeri (because he's always in for anything when it comes to Vegas!)
5. Mike Mager (because he was just unable to resist my effervescent charm and charisma when we spoke yesterday )
6. Scott Davis (because he doesn't do anything without his wife, Chad Fleming)
7. Chad Fleming (because he doesn't do anything without his husband, Scott Davis)
8. Joe Anthony (because I wouldn't take no for an answer on him spending the last of his money to jump into this one)
9. Kenny Enfield (because we needed a little class in this draft, so I pushed for a Canadian...plus the guy loves me, so why not?
10. Matt Shepherd (because he just couldn't resist a really, fucking good time with the likes of the rest of us
11. Paul Weber (because Greg said so, and he's buying!)
12. Dan Semsel (because he's a true gamer...plus the bribe money wasn't too high for me to swing.)

Room at the party, Jason, but the draft is now full. If you would like to attend, just message or email me. It's going to be a great night!Booms2 wrote:I am flying in tomorrow night, is there still room for 1 more?

Update: Room assignment for tonight's festivities is 29001 in the casino tower. There will be an elevator attendant with a guest list directing all party goers and drafters up starting a little before 9:00 p.m. Look for him or her. He/she will have a sign. See everyone soon!

Re: "Midnight Madness Draft!"in Vegas Friday Night 3/31
I need to check my sanity before participating in this buffoonery again
I finally took a real deep look at my team...and there are 6 3B eligible players. Donaldson (3B), Nunez (MI), Suarez (CI), Frazier (UTL), Panda (Bench), Gyorko (bench).

People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring.

Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.

Still, all in all, good times were had by all! Next year, "Midnight Madness" will be returning to Vegas...perhaps at least a couple of hours and several drinks earlier!

Thanks Wayne. It was a pleasure having you along with the added benefit of having you as our draft facilitator after Greg decided he'd better not quit his day job and "bestowed" the honor unto you.Edwards Kings wrote:Mike, It was the BEST! Truly a class event.
