Stan Kaye

Post by DOUGHBOYS » Fri Oct 05, 2012 3:43 pm

I know he wouldn't want me to do this, but I am anyway....
Stan Kaye had a heart attack last night.
He seems to be doing ok and is aware.
How do I know he's aware?
It was Stan's turn to pick in our e-mail draft.
When he didn't make his pick in a timely manner, I e-mailed him and worried.
Then after two unanswered phone calls, more worry.
Bryan Vogel got through to him and found out about Stan's heart attack.
He told Bryan he wanted Johnny Cueto with his first pick (he has the number one slot in our draft), but they were coming to take an ekg and needed more time to think about his second pick.
Can you imagine?
What a guy!

Anyways, send one up for Stan tonight when kneeling at your bed's.
Stan probably wouldn't like this kind of attention, but tough on him.
As he's shown, he's a survivor.
On my tombstone-
Wait! I never had the perfect draft!

We'll be praying for you from Iola, Wisconsin Stan. Hang in there and don't miss a pitch during the playoffs. We know baseball will pull you through. Best wishes from all of us in the NFBC.

This story of Stan surprises me none. Great guy and he loves that draft of yours, Dan.

Be strong, Stan!

Thinking about you tonight Stan! Stan and I were partners a few years back in the NFBC main event and a few satellites . What a great guy to talk baseball with. His love for baseball is 2nd to none. I hope they have a computer there for him by his side or the nurses will have to be updating him on all of his drafts  .

Get better soon buddy!

Stan, hope you feel better soon. I have enjoyed drafting in the slow drafts with you.
there were several mornings id wake up and you'd be the only one online. I have enjoyed the chats, aswell as your patience and fair stance with all.

In case you are bored, here are a couple questions to help keep you fresh for the upcoming season...

Who will benefit the most from the Astros going to AL?

Who are five rookies/or other players to stash in last few rounds of slow draft?

Most importantly...since you will have some free time...pleaae watch the yankee playoff games closely. Am I crazy to think the umpires shrink the strike zone when they are batting???? :)

Just an update-
Stan is home and doing well.
He hasn't missed a beat in our Pre-Mature Draft.
In fact, telling us drafters not to take 'his' players for fear of inducing another heart attack.

Way to go, Stan!

That's the attitude Stan. Glad to hear you're doing fine and still kicking some butt in online drafts. THIS IS YOUR YEAR!!! :D
