You can look up each league and get a good idea of the winning and runner up bids for similar players. There are no hard and fast rules - better to overbid and get the guy you want then to try to save a couple bucks for later. A player purchased today can help you for 25 weeks while the guy you get ...

Looks like I can't drop a different player in conditional example primary bid an Nathan drop Broxton, conditional bid on Everett drop Hanley.

I was targeting him as I have him as top hitter going after ADP 200. I have him for 16 HR and batting over .300 with 85 runs and RBI. Other owners in my leagues must have thought so too as I didn't get him in any leagues over the weekend. He went for $9 late in my auction.
