Re: Affordable Auctions

Dan and Greg. I actually ended up with a scheduling conflict for the 19th - so unfortunately I will have to bow out of this auction/draft. Looks like you shouldn't have any trouble filling it up though.

Thanks

Re: Umpire blown call

Well - even as an Indian fan, cannot dispute that they totally blew that call. Ruined a great game in the process.

Indians on course to complete the sweep today, and this will taint their win streak a bit, but man it really sets up their series vs the Tigers this weekend nicely.

Re: Live Chat With Todd Zola: Tuesday, 7 pm ET

Okay Boss, Thought I'd throw out a strategy question that I'm sure some would like to know your answer to. In last week's LABR Mixed, you selected three 1B eligible players (Fielder, Craig and Butler) with 3 or your first 4 picks. I have a few questions when looking at this. - Was this your strategy...

Re: Unique Draft Champions Offerings After Jan. 15th

Great draft - but I concede not everyone would desire to be in a league THIS fast. Still - if you want to try and squeeze in multiple DC teams - then sprinkling in a couple like the one we just completed is the way to go. For me it was perfect. I have a lot of stuff going on and wasn't sure how I wa...

Re: Life Etiquette 101 For SLOW DRAFT

The only slow draft "etiquette" I can think of is this: act like you would at a real live draft. If you are sitting next to someone at a live draft, would you start harassing them to pick faster?? The answer to this is obviously no, since I would be busy worrying about my pick which would be guaran...

Re: Who Makes It Into The MLB Hall of Fame?

You are right Dan. The writers need to be reigned in. This is after-all a "Museum" of baseball. Can't white-wash the reality of any "era" of the game. It is WAY past time to add more qualified people to the voting roster and set a new standard for keeping your voting eligibility. Cory Schwartz point...

Re: Who Makes It Into The MLB Hall of Fame?

sad was when Jim Rice was voted in. if no one gets in this year, c est la vie. Sad was in 1996 - two years after a terrible strike - these boneheads elected NO ONE! Veterans committee bailed them out -with Jim Bunning I guess (though that guy is a douche) - but writers missed the boat that year. Go...

Re: Who Makes It Into The MLB Hall of Fame?

I have no problem with voters not wanting to reward suspected "juicers' with a First-time ballot selection. What I don't like - and never have liked is a voter turning in a blank/protest ballot. IMO if you can't be bothered to submit a ballot - then you should lose your ballot. If you want to protes...

Re: Life Etiquette 101 For SLOW DRAFT

Last time I checked the term "slow" no longer is used to classify these drafts. That was a necessary change, because it allowed people to hide behind that line of thinking. The 8 hour-clock is really just there to cover the hours that you may be sleeping, or I guess at work - but thankfully they are...

Re: A Half Hour

Well...looking at the rankings I submitted to Todd - I see that Swisher didn't crack my Top 15 at 1B and if I had ranked him in the OF, I am doubtful he would have cracked my Top 40 there either. So I don't disagree so much with your take on his perceived "fantasy" value. I do however think he looks...

Re: A Half Hour

Hmmm....I only respond again Dan because it is fun to dig a little deeper. Funny you brought up Victorino. He was the Tribes initial target and turned down more money ($44 million reportedly) NOT to play in Cleveland. They did overpay for Swisher clearly as he squeezed the extra option year out of t...

Re: A Half Hour

Hey Dan - I am looking back a few half-hours, but as a Tribe fan, I think you are missing the bigger picture when it comes to Swisher joining the Indians. Yes - the Tribe was willing to pay him more money and added the 4th and 5th option years, which no one else was going to, but they offered him a ...

Hey Greg,

Let's see Dan, Emory, Stanley K, Mark B, Dave A, Dickie Van F....

That's a good group forming here so I'll jump in with some old friends here...haven't played with Emory or Richard in a couple years.

Re: Dallas McPherson

Ah yes - another PCL creation. He was supposed to be the replacement for Troy Glaus. I still remember him starting at 3B in the 2004 LDS against Boston, since Glaus could only DH. Injuries did him in early, but it looked like he was back after missing all of 2007 when he mashed 42 dingers in the min...

Rafael Furcal at least deserves a mention. He's been tremendous and was an afterthought on draft day. Even if he gets hurt, he's given you more than you likely thought you were going to get out of him.

Yeah. Y Molina got 5 games last year for his "spitting" and "bumping" incident. I could see that as the precedent here, but I do think 10 is a possibility due to the helmet being thrown.

Seriously. I come here to play against the best players around. Period. I don't expect the site to do my work for me. I do my own homework and don't expect this site to give me (or my competitors) "advice" on how to manage my teams. In fact - the less info available the better IMO. As long as I can ...

Not trying to hype or obscurify my true intentions. Just my thoughts here: Robertson got a nice audition in a non-save situation last night - but I think his striking out the side will get him the first shot at a real save. He's the fan favorite and he's earned the shot by just being the better pitc...
