Regarding Live Scoring, it does not work for me on IE, but works just fine on Firefox (on same machine). Until it gets worked out, you may want to try an alternative to IE, as this seems to be a browser specific issue (at least it is in my case)

Powering your laptop shouldn't be much of an issue nowadays. I just get a backup battery ($40 on Amazon) and swap out during the 2nd break. easy as pie
