CBS Sportsline.com AL Auction League Today

I agree that it is always interesting to see other leagues.......BUT they are never the same! # teams, rules, etc, etc change a LOT in Auction Dynamics I do find it odd that your league overpays for pitching to that degree and yet won't pay for a STUD hitter at comparable rates when the pitching is ...

CBS Sportsline.com AL Auction League Today

Okay, here were some of the eye-catching bids in the AL Auction League.I love seeing these kind of results and comparing them to how the bidding in my AL only league usually turns out. Things of interest to me: 1. We've never had a $50 player in the 9 year history of my league. 2. My league overpays...

SS - Orlando Cabrera $9I find that an interesting purchase since he's still a free agent. What happens if he signs with an NL team?

Auction vs Draft

Auction, 100%. Sure it may take longer, but it's a lot more work putting a team together when every owner has access to every player. It makes you more like a real world GM since you have to watch your budget and plan accordingly.

Shortstop Rankings and Dollar Values

Here are the projected dollar values for all AL shortstops according to our first issue of Fantasy Sports Magazine:I find it interesting that no AL shortstop is valued higher than $18. In my non-NFBC 10 team AL only auction league, which is based in NY state, Jeter goes for well over $20 (not by me)...

The Off-season

I'm not in the NFBC, but I've already begun preparing for my 2009 baseball league. 2008 regular season stats are widely available on the web so I download them, massage them into the format that best suits my league categories and go from there. I play in a keeper league so I'm already scouring over...

how do the satellite drafts work?

Thanks for more great insight, Bill. My real world league is my main league, so I'd do one satellite at most. After 9 years of AL only auction play, I'll have to study up pretty hard on the NL guys and try and plan out a non-auction draft. Dealing with FAAB would be the least of my concerns.

how do the satellite drafts work?

Thanks for the insight, Ryan. Once the satellite signups come out, I'll probably take a shot at one. Just have to break it to the wife that I'm joining another league.

how do the satellite drafts work?

Thanks for the replies, guys. Satellites may be the way for me to go next year. After 9 years in a format which I love, it would be tough to fall in line with the NFBC rules. We'll see!

Thanks, GG. I'm intrigued by the NFBC, even with the no trading rule, and might try and get my feet wet with a satellite next season.

Do they do the auction satellites over MDC as well?

700 IP Minimum In 2009?

The no trading is a step up from the yearly rip off feast in trading leagues. Once you play it, you will understand why.Maybe, maybe not. Not to hijack this thread, but trading is half the fun for me. My league has no FAAB and monthly access to FA's via drop/adds, so if you want to get better or rep...

Why haven't you graduated from the minor leagues to the majors? It's time to play the best game in town.I'm too cheap and the no trading thing would make me more mental than I already am.

700 IP Minimum In 2009?

I'm a non-NFBC lurker, but I'm intrigued by this. My roto league has used a 1,000 IP min for 9 years and only 2 teams have ever failed to make it. 700 innings seems like a really low number.
