Auction, 100%. Sure it may take longer, but it's a lot more work putting a team together when every owner has access to every player. It makes you more like a real world GM since you have to watch your budget and plan accordingly.

I'm not in the NFBC, but I've already begun preparing for my 2009 baseball league. 2008 regular season stats are widely available on the web so I download them, massage them into the format that best suits my league categories and go from there. Thanks for more great insight, Bill. My real world league is my main league, so I'd do one satellite at most. After 9 years of AL only auction play, I'll have to study up pretty hard on the NL guys and try and plan out a non-auction draft. Dealing with FAAB would be the least of my concerns.

Thanks for the replies, guys. Satellites may be the way for me to go next year. After 9 years in a format which I love, it would be tough to fall in line with the NFBC rules. We'll see!

Do they do the auction satellites over MDC as well?

Are these done live in person or are they over the net? Do they follow the same rules as the main event?

The no trading is a step up from the yearly rip off feast in trading leagues. Once you play it, you will understand why.Maybe, maybe not. I'm a non-NFBC lurker, but I'm intrigued by this. My roto league has used a 1,000 IP min for 9 years and only 2 teams have ever failed to make it. 700 innings seems like a really low number.

It's a fake.
