Who has decided to enter the NFBC and where?

I love to name drop, so it's good to announce that Jerry Sloan will be drafting in the NFBC this year. Okay, it's probably not that Jerry Sloan, but it sounds good and like I've said before, if the real Meat Loaf is participating in the NFBC then anything is possible. This Jerry Sloan will be co-man...

Draft Facilitators Needed

I know this is a dangerous post because I'll be inundated with requests, but here it goes anyway: I am looking for knowledgeable people to be draft facilitators at our three sites. I have several in each city already, but will take names now just in case we need more. Each draft will have two draft ...

Welcome Reception Update

I just wanted to let everyone involved with the NFBC know what's planned for our Friday Night Welcome receptions in New York, Chicago and Las Vegas. First of all, you are not required to attend those. If it's more convenient for you, just pick up your registration packet on Saturday morning and you'...

When Should FAAB Deadline Be?

I do not believe there are any Monday 12:30 EST games, other than the Patriot Day game, but I'll check again. We had two Cubs games at 2:05 EST and a 4:05 EST September game. If I'm wrong, we'll keep adjusting as the Ten Commandments for the NFBC have yet to be carved in stone. By the way, Iola, WI ...

When Should FAAB Deadline Be?

Please remember that all FAAB bids and roster moves can be done through STATS' 800-number as well as online. For someone who would not have access to a computer over any weekend, a simple phone call would work. No matter what decision we make on the time of the free agent bids, a person can make the...

NFBC questions

Thanks for answering all the questions guys. That's what I get for playing a long hoops noon-hour game. All I can say is that 60 seconds and change should be long enough, the draft boards are HUGE, the draft order is totally random after all entrants are in, and I think it will be proven that you ca...

Who has decided to enter the NFBC and where?

Let's welcome another member to the growing NFBC family as Paul Weber of Boston has agreed to participate in the NFBC draft in New York. Paul was all set to take A-Rod first if he got the chance, but then that trader went from Boston to New York (well, kind of). Best of luck Paul in enemy territory ...

60 seconds to make your picks?

We are sticking with the one minute time limit because as has already been pointed out, by the time the draft facilitator puts the sticker on the board, you're looking at 1:15 or more. I'm convinced many people will be prepared and this draft will cruise faster than the stickers can fly on the board...

Tokyo games and the Sunday straggler...

Yes, all of those games will count. We will address that as we get closer to the draft, but the bottom line is that everyone will have to set their starting lineup the week of March 29-April 4 to take those three games into consideration. Then lineups will be allowed to be altered for the week of Ap...

Let's welcome three more new teams to the NFBC, giving us nine on Monday alone. Good day. First off, let's introduce another entry for the AL Auction League in New York as Joseph Saporito has signed up to compete. Best of luck in the hunt for the $7,000 league prize Joseph and happy bidding. Aaron S...

I didn't reply yet because we have been working on that concept and hope to have a GOOD answer shortly. There's no question that Fantasy Sports Magazine will play up the winner in next year's Fantasy Sports Magazine baseball issue. That's a given. Hell, my wife even works in the four-color scanning ...

When Should FAAB Deadline Be?

We are trying to determine when would be the best deadline for our Free Agent Acquisition Budget (FAAB) bids during the NFBC season. I had originally proposed Monday morning, but I'm now convinced that would make it tough on many owners who don't have access to a computer to learn about their league...

Reserve Roster Rule Has Been Changed

Okay, so far the discussion has been very helpful to me. You have convinced me that Monday morning FAAB bid deadline is a bad idea and I'm already convinced that Friday is too early. So let's at least agree that Sunday will be our day to enter final FAAB bids for free agents. And let's at least agre...

Reserve Roster Rule Has Been Changed

We can certainly make the free agent deadline on Sunday if that works best for everyone, although I'm not sure how many operators we'll have available for call-in changes on Sundays. We can also have a Monday morning lineup due deadline or even a midnight Sunday deadline as well if that's what the g...

Now we're moving on the Auction Leagues. Dale Tobias of Chicago has signed up for the NL Auction League in Las Vegas as we get closer to filling one league. Reserve Roster Rule Has Been Changed

We want to give everyone enough time to enter their new free agent pickups into their starting lineups each week, while still allowing people enough time after the Sunday night games to evaluate their free agent bids. We're still working on the time frame and will continue to ask for input, so don't...

There are four games that start early in 2004 on a Monday and we are addressing those right now. The Cubs play two Mondays in April at 1:05, the Red Sox host Patriot Day in April early (same day as a Cubs early game) and the Cubs host one more 3:05 game in September. We will address these individual...

Here's another signup for the Auction Leagues, this time in New York. Eddie Gillis of Rhode Island called me this morning and ENTHUSIASTICALLY signed up for the AL Auction League at the Javits Center. Welcome aboard Eddie and best of luck in the battle for the $7,000 first prize.
